Default Inferno of the Damned - Quick Guide

This is a quick guide and thus skips two optional rooms... but the other two are included for shrines/extra chests.

    Further Instructions:
    - The "normal" side will be referred to as the "Cold" side. The other side is aptly named the "Fire" side.
    - Lighting torches can be done by luring the fire mephits over and having them breath on them or any such firespell.
    - Blowing out torches can be done by luring the air mephits over and having them breath on them or any such cold spell.
    - All party members must be gathered right on the portal/acolyte when it is destroyed/killed.

1 (Cold Side) - Head west and destroy portal.
2 (Fire Side) - Head south and destroy portal.
3 (Cold Side) - Head east and light torches.
4 (Cold Side) - Head back west and destroy portal.
5 (Fire Side) - Head north past the portal at location 1 and drop down and continue north. Destroy Portal.
6 (Cold Side) - Head south and light torches.
7 (Cold Side) - Head north and destroy portal.
8 (Fire Side) - Head south and blow out torches.
9 (Fire Side) - Head north and destroy portal.

10 (Cold Side) - Head east and destroy portal (or optionally destroy the Acolyte for shrine and optional chest).
11 (Fire Side) - Drop down to room and destroy the portal located behind the secret door.
12 (Cold Side) - Light torches.
13 (Cold Side) - Destroy Portal.
14 (Fire Side) - Blow out torches.
15 (Fire Side) - Climb up out of room and head east. Skip first portal you see and destroy portal at location 15.

16 (Cold Side) - Light torches.
17 (Cold Side) - Head south and destroy portal (or optionally destroy the Acolyte for shrine and optional chest).
18 (Fire Side) - Drop down and blow out torches.
19 (Fire Side) - Head north to center room and then east. Blow out torches.
20 (Fire Side) - Head back to center room for completion fight.

Just a quick guide for fast completion and sigil farming. The other two optionals are a bit trickier and consume a little more time.

Excellent guide. It changed this quest from an hour+ mess of confusion and frustration to a 15 minute speed run.

    Well done!

Nice simple, easy to follow map. Thank you.

One suggestion: a little foreknowledge as to resistances and buffs would be nice. I mean it is easy to see after getting hit for neg level that you need DW... but forewarned is forearmed!

    Thanks again, +1 to you!

I like to remember that quest this way. This isn't a guide you can follow if unfamiliar, but it helps you remember it when you know what to do.

Go west then counterclockwise to south (switching sides as required). Kill South fire ele, then D-Door.

Go west, then clockwise to north/east/south, doing each objective room as it's reached (skipping East Fire, can't get there yet). Go from South Fire to Fire Central to East Fire, do that, then kill Cinnis in Fire Central.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

As far as buffs go, you'll want Reistance from Fire, Cold, and Electricity (to a lesser extent) as well as Deathward. It can also speed things up a little if you drag an arcane caster or someone with the UMD to use a Fireball/Burning Hands and Cone of Cold wand for the torches.

This walkthrough kicks all kinds of ass, by the way. Having only been there once before discovering it, it was very easy to pick up and run with. Thank you for the post.

Valezra, thank you very much for taking the time to do up this guide! I've always been a bit intimidated by this quest and it's one of the few I could never lead. This guide helped immensely and I finally got my last sigil piece! Yay. Thanks again for this great guide. Will certainly bookmark for future use.

Epic thread necro, but totally warranted given the release of Epic Orchard.
Like the necromancer above this was one of those quests I never learned.
With the desire for an Atonement now front and center, used this guide to give it
a go and it went smashingly. Expected to have to farm this thing to death, but
pulled Atonement on the first go, and that *never* happens!
    [Insert happy loot dance here]
