Screen Freezing

I stopped playing for a couple of months, and when i started again, after downloading a huge patch and what not, the game continues to freeze during character creation. The game worked fine before hand. i manage to get to choosing my race, and the character model freezes, then the sound stops, and i end up having to restart my computer.

Any ideas?
