Default Cleric with a Monk splash- Stances?

    Hey all,

I've reincarnated my level 20 Cleric and am taking two levels of monk for evasion and the AC bonus. So far, I'm having a great deal of fun with this character!

Q is- what stance would you recommend, and what animal path? I'm thinking Monkey? I've got Wind Stance right now, but I'm afraid that I'm rather poorly informed about Monk stances and what would be synergistic with Cleric needs.

    Thanks in advance.

Also, I will do a forum search for it, but is "slow fall" or "slow drop" available to someone with only two levels of monk?

    Wind stance: dual Vorpal kama
Water stance: gives +2 Wisdom, better spell DC and AC, so for "caster mode"

Monkey: + haggle, stacking energy resistance. I personally advocate this one
Turtoise: + concentration, + hit points

The other paths are not worth, IMHO, for a splash build.

I did all tangelroot hard yesterday with a monk 2 / cleric 2 as healer and he did great. I guess he was using a devotion quarterstaff as weapon.

Jeeze, everyone is doing the monk splash with their healers these days.

i pretty much leave water stance always on my cleric/monk. But I find wind stance unimpressive until about the third tier.

If I kill something before it can hurt the party and I don't use as much mana healing does that make me a battle caster?

The monk splash gives a great synergy to a cleric.

The loss of the capstone, a few spell points and a 9th level spell to gain evasion, extra feat and higher wisdom capability with waterstance and of course an opportunity to reach a meaningful AC.

I have been running my combat casting oriented cleric17/monk2/sorc1 for quite some time and love playing him.. great survivability.
I took path of the monkey and allways have water stance on. took air stance but rarely use it.

I'm sure there are quite a few, although we have none in my guild and I've yet to group with one on Argo.

    I look forward to it....

Are you going to be using monk weapons on your monk splash character? If not stances aren't worth while at all. If so, probably water for a cleric, extra wisdom and extra saves are always nice. Wind is good if you are going to be meleeing a lot. Monkey or Tortoise would probably be the best animal path options depending on what you want. You'll only get the first tier of an animal path so it's not a big deal which you take or if you take one at all but a few extra hit points and a point of concentration for 1 AP put in Tortoise is certainly not a waste. You do not get slow fall with only two levels of monk

To be fair, I made a FVS with a rogue splash...
