Default Please Fix Portals in Gianthold Tor!

Went through the whole quest, killed 3 dragons, clicked on a gold pile, and was shunted out of the black dragon area without even gettign the chest.

Very upset that a GM stated it was not possible to get back in in ANY way, despite my party members still being in the instance after waiting for 5 minutes for a GM to show up. (Very thankful it was only 5 minutes.)

A simple "would you really like to leave" dialog box would have REALLY helped there. There's no way to prevent going out of the area.

Probably wasn't a scale in there for me with my luck today, but it would have been better to KNOW that.

"Once the end boss is defeated the instance is considered closed to the players who have left. Regretfully there is nothing we can do in regards to this issue."

I didn't exactly leave of my own free will, and it's easy to check the player log to verify that I was actually there killing the dragon with my party.

You must have clicked on the portal instead of the gold pile, happened to me once though luckily I had already looted the chest. The best thing to do is to loot the chest first and worry about the masterwork ammo generators, I mean gold piles later.

The portal that leads to the dragon being closed after the dragon is killed looks like a a system designed to prevent scales farming exploits like holding the instance opened with one account and farming the hell out of the chest with your 999 alts from another account.

that doesnt work anyway cause you have to be inside when the chest get opened to get any loot

Nothing needs to be fixed. It's a portal, you click on it, and you go through.

As was mentioned, most people open the chest prior to looting gold just because of this.

Right, strike that and replace it with "up to 5 characters from up to 5 different accounts". Doesn't sound very feasible but I bet some people will try it if the portals won't be turned off after the dragons die.

1 - first mistake was wasting time pickup the worthless gold piles anyway

2 - second mistake was being unable to tell the difference between a huge fracken portal and a worthless pile of gold

3 - third and final mistake was then wasting more time expecting a _turbine_ DM to actually help...

    Looks like you struck out

I'm pretty astonished at the responses here! I mean come on, all he really wants is a little box to pop up when leaving a dungeon asking if you really want to. We already have this for recalling, or leaving before your done, why not just have an option that lets you turn it on even when your done a dungeon?

I find no chest in the game that important to post about losing it once. Especially one without a timer involved. No it hasn't, but in these cases, I would just choke it up to bad programming and move on. Bug report it. I am giving you the benefit of a doubt even though no one else has ever mentioned it.

Sorry you don't know how to click a gold pile yet.levels 1-16 teach that.

The quest should be changed to fix this problem.

Simply putting the portals far away from the gold would be an acceptoble fix IMO.

    Check your Options.

There is a setting to enable "Confirm Dungeon Exit'. I am UNSURE if this will address your specific 'issue' but the option IS there and would suggest you verify it is enabled and also see if it will solve your problem.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

I was you who double clicked on the portal right? You were not forced to do it by some angry kobald, correct? Someone else did not force you to move your mouse to the portal and click on it, yes?

Not to sound to calloused, but to ask for a quest to be changed because YOU had a mis-click is kind of silly.

Not only that,I would think after reaching level 14-16 you would know when you hover on a pile of gold you see the gear.I know it's not obvious.

Lesson learned, I don't think any developer work is required to fix this.

Some people have hit the portal by mistake or due to lag or other things out of their control to change the quest slightly for this kind of thing doesnt seem like to much to ask for.

Single click on the gold pile near the portal, yes. No idea how it clicked the portal. :/

I'll try to find the dungeon exit confirmation setting and check it out next time - AFTER I loot the chest.

Was trying to get scales to trade for my friend to get a set with less grind, so any missed chest in there is bad considering it's already a huge enough grind that I've given up on trying to get scales for myself.
