2 questions...

1. Does Bard "blur" and "dusk" stack? (both 10% concealement)

2. What is the highest AC anyone has heard about?

Dusk is 10%; Blur is 20% and can be cast by bards, wizards and sorcerers, provided they have the spell. For short intense fights, ask for "Displacement", which gives 50% miss chance due to concealment.

As Visty pointed out, they don't stack and only the highest count.

As side notes,
- Dusk comes from items (e.g. Dusk Heart) and can't be dispelled by enemy casters, although keep in mind that items can now be affected by Mordenkainen's Disjunction ^^ ;
- if mobs have True Seeing (e.g. Harretrikos in Shroud), they are all useless ....

wow...

guess i need to just see some of the high end gear or something. I have an intimi pally, but b/c i play in a 3 man we have not gotten to the high end gear yet. At level 11 I can get a 56 AC with only self buff/pots. I thought that was good, but 100+ seemed impossible.

The AC 100 types are dex/wis monk splash AC builds, and they require a ranger (barkskin), a divine caster (recitation), a bard (song), and a paladin (aura) in the party to make it happen. It's also dependent on some short-duration clickies, such as uncanny dodge and showtime, so it's not like these guys are walking around with that AC all the time.

Your own AC is good... really good. Around 50 you see a big difference in end-game quests on normal difficulty. Around 60 you are getting toward nigh-invulnerable on normal difficulty, though elite will still hurt you. If you really want to be hard to hit on elite quests, you'll need to grind out your insight bonus, your chattering ring, etc.

I was looking for a good guide/breakdown myself and stumbled on this thread. I have a lvl 18 pure Pally, Defender build and hit 68 AC last night tanking the Hound.

I am not sure if I had recitation (probably did - was well buffed) but I know I had Ranger Bark and a Bard AC Song, so think that is most I will get without grinding for better gear.

I have yet to get Hound Shield (20th run coming later this week - so hopefully soon ) and am still wearing Full Plate of the Defender.

Is the DragonTouched Armor where I can get the Insight Bonus to AC? That is a terrible grind, but one I think worth doing for this character.

I know the Chattering Ring is from the Titan Raid, and my Guild and I are planning to start doing weekly runs there, so that is on my list to acquire...

I hope the OP does not mind, and I am sure this has all been said before, but I have to ask is there anything else I am missing that can boost my AC?

ya, you can get the levik's defender on the dragon touched armor but you'd net 1 more ac with a +4 insight weapon and chaos guards on [+2 dodge ac, bracer slot] and then go for the +3 dodge with the sovereign rune [instead of the chattering ring]. the levik's set from the hound is nice though, and probably easier to get than crafting in the shroud.

dt armor is also a higher base armor, but not mithral. if you are a dwarf you can get +3 dex bonus more with armor mastery enhancements.

maybe you didn't factor in the alchemical bonus to armor and shields, +1 each.

+3 AC from Leviks Shield from Hound Raid - hoping to get on 20th reward list Thursday.

+5 AC (does it stack with Shield, Bracers?) Leviks Defender Sovereign Rune = GRIND

+3 AC (what does/does it not stack with - need to research) from Titan Raid.

+2 AC Tower Defender of Syberys Ring - set with +6 CON/GFL Belt from flagging quest.

Again, I need to check on what does NOT stack as I would hate to grind out one only to realize I wasted my time...

I already did the Alchemical Bonus to both my old lvl 8 Mithril Tower Shield and Defender Armor, and have ingreds banked to do so again on hoped for upgrades. However, good to point out to those who may not know that is possible and not that hard to do - given a bit of grinding or buying ingreds off of newbs as I do.

My Pally is Human, and of course being Human I can boost my AC with Human Versatility, but I normally save those 5/day for UMD boosting and not a 20 second AC boost.

So, see 14 more I can surely work towards acquiring, but think some may not stack.

nope, that's the total with the 3 pieces. insight bonuses do not stack but it is a good set for sure.

it is the dodge type, on a ring, and only stacks with different values of dodge bonuses.

ah, yes, i forgot about that. you can also craft another effect on there as well, i just haven't done so yet.
