    Default FS casting stat?

hey people i thought about creating another version of my battle cleric with a FS the thing is i need to know what is the casting stat? is it charisma? which seems correct as it is the sp stat and developers rely on cha on their builds and taking into account that they don't take into account stat items and so they max cha to make sure 9th level spells are castable or is it wis? which doesn't make to much sense to me...

    No, that's incorrect.
Charisma is both SP, and what you need to access a spell level. So 19 CHA is required for level 9 spells.
    Wisdom is your DCs only.

So if you take no offensive spells (or at least spells with no DC) you can get by without any points in Wisdom. A lot of melee FvS builds do this.

you need a 19 cha to cast lvl 9 spells. but enhancements and items count, you want your wis high if you want a good spell dc

just fyi you can dump cha on any pure fvs and still meet the requirements for spells even a wf with 6 base can do it tho it is tough at lower levels with the tome changes.

There's a serious problem with going that route - the spell Mordankainen's Disjunction absolutely ruins you.

I *strongly* recommend having a Charisma of 19 without including items (which is 12 +2 tome +3 enhancements +2 capstone if pure, 14 if you've splashed 1-2 levels) for endgame. There's no-save Disjunction traps all over the place in the end fight of Epic ADQ1, and that's a spot you really want to be able to cast both True Resurrection and Quickened Mass Heal.

Those traps were evil, I'd expect to see them again in future endgame content.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

i agree they suck and are a problem but your talkin about 1 epic quest where it sux the most it would cause you to do is carry 2-3 items with +6 cha on them for swapping would it suck yes just saying it's possible.
