No, Smatt. Grinding 1 pair of boots isn't the same thing as grinding 0 pairs. I know you're having trouble with this concept, so I'll lay it out like that.
It's a grind that has ALWAYS has an end to it. There's just no point in grinding more than 10 pairs of boots anyway. If you're just hating that a grind would have an eventual end, this is the wrong thread for you to be in.
No smatt, if the grind is excessive, something even you said it was above, it will make the majority of the playerbase avoid the content totally, shortening its lifespan to zero. Oh sure, a few hard core will play it longer, but the overall hours of player time in that whole module will drop because it will be seen as a place for crazy elite grinders only.
I am 100% against them EVER doing anythign that removes the singlular per character benefits. In other words account bound gaming aquired items have removed oen of the key elements of DDO. That to get somewhere on a particular toon meant you had to actually put effort forth on THAT toon.
Exactly, so lets remove the grind altogther..... Yep, I get it no matter what...... Instant gratification...... Then what to do....... Oh I think I'll go play some other game because I'm finished with this.
That's why they're changing ToD in the first place. They KNOW the grind is too much, they KNOW they made a mistake by not requiring each and every character to have boots... Btu completely removign the grind is the worst thing they could do short of leaving it the same.
So you're totally against the entire Inspired Quarter quest chain. And non-raid loot. And drow and favored soul favor unlocks.
Bind to Account items is a great way of making some grinds per-account rather than per-character. There's nothing inherently bad about per-account binds.
Once again you get silly and make stuff up. Must be easier if you argue with things you made up yourself rather than what people are actually saying.
Did you even read that? I know you generally argue with yourself but that paragraph contradicts itself. They knew it was too grindy so they made it more grindy?
It's actually nice. A group of guildies wants to run the IQ and is looking for a <whatever> I can bring that char along to help them out, even if they don't need the item from that quest because I can pass it on. It's not like the older quests where people would say "well, I really only need to run my Wiz through, or maybe my Rogue, can one of you switch?" I think most of the B2C stuff should be moved to B2A, at least 100% of ingredients/collectables.
Nope.. ....Who's making stuff up???? Bound items ahve always been bound BECAUSE they were more powerful than what would normally be expected at a particular level, and in order to obtain those over powered, over level items, and to use them you had to actually work for them on a particular character.... Concept face.....
All this accountound **** is simply dumbing the game down to the lowest common form. There's no doubt it needed to happen to some extent for the game to survive... But DDO will lose if it becomes to stupidly easy. That's for them to decide their money their game... If that's what the masses want... Easy peasy cheasy.... cool....
Your arguments continue to fail. +2 tomes can be passed down, and yet there isn't any way for a l7 player to find one. And the odds of a L2 having some +2MFP armor in a normal chest pull seems pretty rare too and yet you can pass that down.
Having IQ discs BTA instead of BTC doesn't let you get anything early, it just lets you group more easily and thus have more fun. You logic doesn't flow at all.
So if we don't like something its crying, if you don't its a rightful complaint, got it.
Easy boy. You might've had too much coffee.
The grind is not removed in the least bit. How many pairs of boots have you personally crafted by pulling ingredients yourself, Mr. Grindy.
No one here is complaining only about the grind...the grind is fine. Everyone who is responding understands gaming...you're not the only one who plays DDO.
All complaints are about needing to grind for every character at the current ingredient drop rate. Make the drop rate much better, and you effectively accomplish the same exact thing as keeping the drop rate the same but allowing the boots to be shared. Either way is ok.
Why not make Black, Blue or White Dragon Scale armor required on every toon for a Reaver raid?
Silly.

I didn't read anything besides the OP, but I say no.
It's the selfish part of me that ground out 3 boot sets (and ingreds for 3 more, minus the blood). It's not a HUGE grind. A more realistic change should be adjusting the ingred drop rates and, more importantly, adding the two ingrediants to the Wrath quest loot tables.
