Default Only 2 Favoured Enemies - Which ones?

I'm making a multiclassed Bow-using Ranger, so I'll only get 2 Favoured Enemy slots.

    Which enemies should I choose?

I think one of them may be Undead, as many of them are resistant to piercing weapons so it'll help with that, right?

Evil outsiders = 90% of the mobs you will be fighting endgame. Must have.

Undead is decent as well, esp for mid-levels.

You can switch them with fred later.

Undead and Giants at low lvl.
Giants and Evil Outsider at high lvl.

Actually its kinda a toss up for undead or Giants at high lvl right now.
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

Assuming he's taking the ranger levels early(Makes sense to get the free feats), I'd prob stick with this plan. I'd probably switch out undead for Evil Outsider around level 12ish.(About the time you are running Gianthold+ quests)
Freeman - Human Bard - Thelanis Fulfilling my duty to the ladies of Stormreach
Yuvben(Halfling Rogue), Acana(Drow Sorcerer), Walket(Human Cleric), Mahoukami (WF Wizard), Knicapper(Horc Fighter), Pyetr(Human Bard), Mazinger (WF Barb), and Belcar(Halfling Ranger).

As others have said, Undead & Giants for low levels, Giants & Outsiders for high levels.

Remember, Giants also include Trolls & Ogres .... a pair of Giant Stalker Kukris & FE: Gaints made short work of Sorrowdusk Island and Stormcleave Outpost for me

I would make the second one Constructs (Shroud Portals) before Giants (only the rare troll once past Gianthold) or Undead (unless you like necro, you will rarely see them at high levels... and who like the Necropolis?)

Elementals is also a good choice because they all have DR x/-, so FE helps add damage against them.

Evil Outsiders as the first is a given. At lower levels you can do reptilian until giant and undead.

    1. Shroud portals don't hit back, really doesn't matter if you do a few more points of damage and take 30 seconds off your run. I wouldn't bother with Construct, just get some nice portal beaters.

    2. There are plenty of giants in Reaver's Refuge as well as Trolls showing up in various quests in the other areas. I could possibly see taking giant.

    3. Undead show up here and there but I prefer this one more for lower levels. I'm also not certain how useful undead would be.

    4. I agree on Elementals. To help balance against their flat DR favored enemy is nice.

starting out I would suggest reptilian, then take giant depending on what lvl u get ur next one. Then u can switch reptilian out at lvl appropriate rep(1-5/6) undead(5/6-12/13) evil outsider (12/13-20)
Then you could switch giant out for elemental if u so choose

Yeah, but Shroud is so commonly run that +6 damage a hit will make a difference.

And do people even fight the reaver giants? Even if he does grind DT armor, isn't the SOP to stone and run?

You'll most likely spend more time waiting for people to do random things like smoke a cigarette across all your shroud runs than what FE construct saved you. I'd be hard pressed to imagine 6 damage a hit has ever made the difference between success and failure on a shroud part 1. And if 6 damage a hit was the difference then you're not going to be finishing heh.

On runs through SoS and the dragon quest you certainly kill giants, maybe not all of them but you kill a fair number. These quests are fairly quick and worth decent xp at level so I generally run them while leveling up even if I don't have specific DT I want.

Damage won't make you fail yes.

It will help you get through it faster.

For end game Evil Outsiders & Elementals

Giants and their kind are very easy to kill so I would not bother. Elementals typically take longer so while there are less of them you get more bang for your buck going Elemental.

    I would do
Undead & Giants - on early levels

Evil Outsiders & Elementals - on later levels.
A Baker's dozen in the Prophets of the New Republic and Fallen Heroes.
    Abaigeal(TrBd25), Ailiae(TrDrd2), Ambyre(Rgr25), Amilia(Pl20), Einin(TrRgr25), Emili(TrFgt25), Heathier(TrClc22), Kynah(TrMnk25), Meallach(Brb25), Misbehaven(TrArt22), Myara(Rog22), Rosewood(TrBd25) and Sgail(TrWiz20) little somethings with flavour 'n favour
