Default end quest item rewards - filter for monk only

Is this worth setting this option in the Settings/GamePlay window?
I worry that I see 10 robes and maybe that +4 ac bracer the game decided is not a monk item or something.

Anyone have any opinions on this setting? Is it worth having the setting on for gear or should I just not worry about it?

It's a great way to pull some nice handwraps.

By having that set I have gotten +1 ghost touch of disruption, +2 acid of greater undead bane, +3 shock of greater gnoll bane, I think you see my point.

for a monk there's so much stuff that you absolutely can't use that I'd say its VERY important to have class rewards up if this is among your first characters

items you will not see: (at least i have never seen these 1-20 pure monk class rewards always up)

    any non-centered weapon
accessories weapons or armor with pure casting stats(power/wizardry/potency/lore)
    wands
    RR for not your race
    docents for non-warforged

named items seem to be exempt from this, I pulled my carnifex(a greataxe) as a monk and distinctly remember the eternal wands showing up post catacombs

strangely I can't seem to recall pulling any shuriken(non-named), but if they popped in the same list as a high value item or a tome I wouldn't have noticed them.

It's also a good way to have a decent shot at pulling a level 8 robe/outfit of Heavy Fort.

If you are highly interested in uber handwraps, quarterstaffs, kamas, robes, and major mem pots (not sure why those drop so frequently) then monk rewards are for you.

For example, from end level content can expect lots of holy of greater bane, elemental of weighted, vorpal/banish/stat damaging monk weapons.

Can fully expect to pull some really nice handwraps at some point, like transmuting or anarchic burst of evil outsider bane if you keep monk rewards.

Now if you already have 10 +3 vorpal kamas and pretty much every monk weapon you might ever care to have, you might want to switch to general rewards and hopefully pull the occasional rapier for your rogue/ranger alts.

But yeah, I always keep class specific loot selected on my monk. There's always the chance you'll pull some really good handwraps.

My human monk pulled a pair of +5 holy of pure good hand wraps last week. Drow/elf RR. I picked the anarchic qstaff just to spite myself.

Monk is the only class that I would recommend leaving “Class based end rewards” enabled for.

Yeah, sometimes you get craptacular kamas or quarterstaves but it’s generally offset by really nice handwraps.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

Here's my level 16-18 loot list on most runs.

+5 crappy prefix handwraps of even crappier suffix
+4 crappy prefix quarterstaff of even crappier suffix
+4 crappy kama of even crappier suffix
+4 crappy kama of even crappier suffix
    Deathblock Robe of Heavy Fortification
Deathblock Robe of Greater X Resist
Deathblock Robe of Greater X resist.
Deathblock Outfit of Greater X resist.

Then when I finally turned it off because I wasn't getting any good handwrap luck, a pair of awesome handwraps spawned in it.

The robes can be a problem. And getting 4 robes in a reward list isn't uncommon. The problem there is that it is simply not possible to get an uber robe since you'll quickly have all the possible combinations that you want and none of those are better than dt armor can be. So either they need to come up with some better prefixes/suffixes for armor in general, or they should downgrade the number of robes that you tend to get. I would suggest upping the drop rate for throwing stars or even pots and miscellaneous stuff instead of robes.

As for the handwraps/quarterstaffs/kamas, yes the vast majority of these will be ****. First off, you probably use just one of the 3 weapon types, and then there are a lot of garbage combinations you could get. But because you typically get 4 or so weapons per reward list, then over time you can guarantee some awesome combinations will drop. For example, i think i got +3 shock hw of weighted 4% the other day and those weren't anywhere near ml 20. So maybe one day I'll get a shocking burst of weighted 5%, IMO that's more than enough reason to keep monk rewards turned on.

I don't leave class based checked for many of my toons. However, the monk is definitely one that I do.
