    Default Ki Gen Question/Observation

So last night I was in a PUG that was having healing issues and I figured I'd adjust my role a bit and pitch in with the FoL and Healing Ki 1 as much as possible. I started having ki issues right away because I was killing too fast and not building ki as fast I was using it even though I was only using FoL and the Healing Ki finisher so I changed to para-wraps and fire stance to help build ki. I have become accostomed to the speed enhancement with wind stand so I felt like I was moving in slow motion and it seemed like I was basically building ki as fast with fire as I am used to with wind.

-In thinking about this I wondered if others noticed the same thing or if I am just "mis-perceiving" my ki gains wind versus fire.

-Also I am curious with the coming of this new 500 point strike we having coming up with update 3 is our local character optimizers are of the opinion that the usefulness of the "way of the crane" outweighs the "way of the tortoise" because of the aditional ki generation for dark monks? Maybe only after the monk takes improved crit?

-I am really happy with the light path. I rarely need healing or pots, I solo a lot without issues, I can contribute to the party when needed. With the new monk enhancements, it seems like they are trying to tempt me to switch from a high survival build to a higher dps, yet lower survivability build.

I see similar amounts of ki from wind stance and fire stance, unless I'm using Stunning Fist. With Stunning fist the auto crits generate a lot more ki in fire stance.

I think this will vary somewhat by your animal path.

Oremi's Necklace will do the job on this, it gives +1 ki on hit. It's like fire stance while in wind stance. =)

The necklace drops in Bastion of Power. Both items drop in Tower of Despair.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

I never noticed any difference because I invest in wind, earth and water. I don't have the APs for fire too so I only have 1 tier. I don't see a difference in a low fire and a high wind.

I switched my 12 monk from light to dark and am having a ton of fun with it. I don't think the survivability is less on a dark monk. I think the skill level needs to be a bit higher. A dark monk can neutralize an enemy easier than a light monk.
