Gift Buying with Pay Pal

Okay, a friend wants to buy me some DDO points so I can open up the extra character slots. He uses pay pal and of course, it is tied to his Premium/F2P account. Now we both saw the thread on gifting, but it only mentions doing it with a credit card. Is there a way he can use his Pay Pal account to do the gifting?

We tried that however my pay pal is not linked to a bank account, quite on purpose as I have had pay pal draw funds out of my account at random due to an online merchant charging my account claiming I owe them money. So I cannot purchase DDO points using my Pay Pal account due to Turbine requiring me to put my account at risk of being attacked again.

Jasimine, I'm sorry that you've had bad experiences with online merchants. We require that PayPal accounts be verified in order to be used in the Turbine store as it is an important fraud prevention measure. You could create a PayPal account just for use with the Turbine store, as we only process charges when a request is made via the store. You could also just add a credit card or debit card to the Turbine account directly. We only process charges to an account if a subscription plan is selected, or if a purchase is made via the store.

If you are not comfortable adding your information to our system, we do have another option. We accept pre-paid credit cards or gift cards. As these are not linked to anyone's credit, there is little or no risk in using them. The card does need to have a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover logo on it. It needs to be registered with your name and address for verification, and the card needs to allow reoccurring fees, as those can be selected on our Account Management website. These cards can be purchased as Mall gift certificates, at banks, convenience stores, drug stores and more.
