    Default Fixing my Paladin

So I've got this Human 16Paladin/2Fighter right now. Unfortunately her Charisma is gimped and I couldn't take Divine Might at all As well as other little things that bother me such as no ranks in UMD. So I'm hoping with the help of the upcoming Lesser Reincarnation I can "fix" her and bring her more in line with what I'd like out of her.

The Rogue level is to unlock full ranks in UMD, although I realize it comes at the price of -1 to BAB, correct? Will that hurt me that much in the long run?

She's built primarily as a TWF KotC, but I like having the Intimidate ranks and the ability to slap on a Tower shield and tank if needed.

I started my TR pally with a 15 base Chr. That way when I get a +3 tome I'll qualify for DM3. DM2 will be good till then. I went with 2 levels of rogue for all the skills and evasion.

I think that alot of people that are making TWF KOTC Pallys are splashing either two levels of monk, rogue, or fighter. Personally I like rogue, but all three have their merits. I would advise you to not splash 18/1x/1x, but go 18/2x on something be it fighter, monk, or rogue. I'm a big fan of evasion on your tank so I favor either monk or rogue, with rogue being my personal favorite. That's what I did with Callisto, and so far it's pretty fun.

Besides, if you don't like your splash just LR it away to one that you do like.

If you want to use a Tower Shield just get the madstone shield from Reaver. It grants automatic proficency with tower shields. It's pretty much as good as levik's anyways, and I doubt you'll be wearing the bracers on this toon anyways. Don't splash a fighter level just for that.

A level of fighter isn't worth it. I went two levels of fighter and don't think it was worth it. Like said, if you want to splash, the ones to do it are rogue and monk depending on what you want.
Another thing to look at is divine might IV instead of III. Granted you would need to play around with your stats a little bit, but it might be worth the extra 2 points of damage (same as a+4 mod to str).

The extra feat from Fighter is appealing to me, it lets me take all the feats I want to. I only really wanted one level of rogue for full UMD ranks, Evasion isn't really what I'm looking for with this build, she'll have a decent Reflex save with a +6 item and (hopefully) +5 resist on Dragontouched.

She's already two levels of fighter, which I'm kinda "meh" on, which is why I'm looking to change her up some. I'm trying her out on Lamannia with a 2 Rogue splash right now, but I don't think her DEX will be high enough to give her a great AC in robes. I also think her Wisdom will be two low to get the full benefit from a monk's Wisdom bonus to AC.

Well, if you're not worried about evasion then go with it. I debated going 18 pal / 1 rog / 1 mnk, but I didn't want to loose evasion and I was concerned that I was trying to do to many things at the same time on the same toon.

Whatever way you go I'm sure it will be fun.

Actually, Paladin 18 / Rogue 1 / Fighter 1 is a very nice combination and is what I use on my Defender of Siberys. Due to RL issues I haven't had time to play much, but I've gone to 18th level so far and found I really like the build. Fighter 1 actually grants you two feats, one fighter feat and tower shield for free which you'll want if you're going to want if you want to tank and go S&B for a bit, very useful on a DoS. Rogue 1 unlocks UMD which makes it worth it, and gives lots of extra skill points.

It also depends if you think the two feats are worth trading evasion for or the paladins cap stone. But the "free" tower shield for DoS is nice.

Agreed. It all depends on what you want. On my DoS I knew I wanted UMD and intimidate as class skills, which precluded going pure and taking 1-2 levels of Rogue for the UMD portion. Then it was a question of 2 Rogue or 1 Fighter / 1 Rogue. The extra feats were really nice on the 1 Fighter splash. Also, it's more difficult to fill out the max dex bonus on the 2 Rogue splash. At time, if I could have planned on a 34 point build and/or +2 tomes in every stat I might have thought about it. Truth be told, if they had a cool looking suit of DT leather I would have more seriously gone 2 Rogue...It's not just how you play, you have to look good too, being a Paladin
