    Default UK Credit Cards

I tried to setup a subscription for the game, and as you guessed I couldn't hence the post, I sent a message to turbine, no response and I also asked in game and didn't get one sensible reply.

So here is the problem, I live in the UK and the credit cad I use is not listed i.e. Solo Switch Card, I then thought I will use my PayPal account, but thats not listed either. So how are people outside the States supposed to pay for the subscription. I am not prepaired to call the States or fax my credit card details or goto to the hassle of getting another card or a pre-paid card, after all DDO want the money.

If any one has got a sensible answer please post.

Well, there's some helpful information in this post. While Turbine doesn't officially support the UK, we're happy to help players from anywhere in the world to play with us. However, in some cases players in non-officially supported areas may need to take additional steps to add payment information or make purchases.

I have had other European players tell me that they've been able to request a Visa or MasterCard debit card from their bank, instead of a card we don't accept (for example, Maestro). That may be an option that works for you.

At this time PayPal can't be used for subscription fees. If this ever changes, we'll certainly announce it, and I'll pass along your interest in this option.

Thank you for the reply, I have read that post and it's the typical response you get from anywhere, in other words it dosen't help.

As a gaming company the business model for the game is to get as many monthly subscriptions as possible, if thats what the business model requires as in this case. Which means that the gaming company should provide every means for that to happen, evidently that is not the case with this company.

Gamers just want to play the game and be as painless as possible in that process, so in my case that means I shouldn't have to waste my time going down to the bank, filling out paperwork just to get a credit card I don't want, just a play a game.

Also, your reference to countries, as in your words "non-officially supported areas" leaves a lot to be desired, there are countless countries in this world with millions of gamers and your trying to tell me that if you don't live in one country, then your not deemed fit enough to play this game simply because you live in a "non-officially supported areas".

So, in a nutshell, there is no help anyone can give on this, well thats very disappointing.

"Solo" is not widely recognised outside the UK. I'd be astounded if you found any US company that accepts it unless they also accept "Maestro" cards. It is not an international standard with the same wide acceptance that Visa, Mastercard and American Express have.

I was going to reply to the above post with some wit, humour and a great deal of sarcasim, but a friend of mine would say I cannot be fuzzed, the language in my previous post must not be the correct insternational standard.....
