    Haha Hydro after shrouding with a couple of your newer guildies last night, I can see where this is coming from. . .

    Leader says who is killing which BOSS, we all say kill cat last--BUT cat gets down to the center first and 2 of your guildies proceed to wail on it and kill it despite all of us saying/typing/yelling to stop.

    This after I tried to convince the leader one of you new guildies wasn't a total noob--The leader had previous bad experiences with them on raids,but I had quested with them and thought that they were not a noob--now I won't being this person on a raid again as they did not listen for the whole thing--then when it got bugged at the end and we filed a ticket the person left--I was like Oh No, what will we ever do with the Barbarain who doesn't listen to a thing that the leader says?

    Ok, didn't bother to read all the replies, but there has definitely been a shift on Thelanis to fighting the shroud bosses more as a group (or 2 groups), then separating and killing, instead of the original 4 corners approach. Personally, I believe this was done simply as a matter of efficiency. With increasing experience, level, and loot it simply becomes quicker to do it that way. Precise timing is no longer critical so don't have to be all anal about the methodology - you simply "overpower" the encounter.

    Applying this strategy to less capable groups might cause problems, however.

    Gnoll casts blade barrier that is a cleric spell. Any two mobs too close cause regen, not just troll. If troll is in southeast of north east room, and shav is in northwest of northeast room they are not close enough to heal. Orc near the tree means a melee can get its aggro, then kite around the tree avoiding damage until everyone else is ready. Try it. My strategy is sound, I have never had any complaints, there have only been a few times when I've had to kill something more than once because someone said something was prepped when it was not. (or it was something that moved around too much and couldn't be cornered and killed fast enough such as the orc, kasquik, or the devil.) The only reason I wouldn't kill the devil first is because the troll has enormous regen and is too hard to prep if only one or two people are on it. This is the only time the devil wouldn't be killed first. Thanks for offering your opinion as fact though. I suppose my never taking more than 15 minutes on part two is not a sound strategy (at least 5 of those minutes come from clearing the maze of trash).

    I didn't say this was the best possible strategy, but it is the one I employ in all my groups, and have never been displeased with its results. It was discovered through quasi-trial and error based on other people's strategies. (IE I saw the division into the 3 rooms but had to discover the minimum distance which the tree in middle east serves a good landmark for, and that the troll+devil combination is disgusting.)
