Lightning split soarwood to rare?

LSS seems to be the rarest collectible on the face of Eberron. Not that I really mind so much. It seems like all the other collectibles are easy enough to find. I have a hard time getting my hands on silver flame hymnals sometimes, but that's probably because I tend to use shields on most of my characters.

Been playing EU for four months now and have only found one LSS. That was in the Tanglefoot Gorge quest series.

I just got one earlier today. Was doing runs of the Xorian Cipher. Other then that on 2 toons that was only my second time ever seeing one.

Xorian Cypher is my favorite spot as well. Farm for Lightning-Split Soarwood, Planar Girds and Chaosguards.

Anyway, shouldn’t we all be hitting up all the sparklies now? I mean, who wants to pay real cash for XP elixirs?

Fortunately, you only need to find enough LSS once for each character. IMO the ingredients for force rituals are more annoying to find.

Found 3 lightning-split soarwoods when I was a total newbie and didn't know what they were for or that they were more expensive to sell on AH than the loot. Threw them out to make room for crappy vendor trash. Haven't seen one since on any other character on any server.

I collected 3 from the collectible bag while farming the desert for a Bloodstone.

Pulled two in one run of temple of Vol this week and felt incredibly lucky - because I've had little luck getting them elsewhere. Multiple runs of Caged trolls and none.

If u want fast instance resets that is quite easy...enter the instance...summon hireling.......go in get your stuff.....recall out....go back in but make sure you pick a different difficulty.....presto....instance is reset.

Hopefully they will never "fix" this. You can just go back and forth with casual/normal all day.

In my 2.5 years playing, I have only received TWO LSS in Xorian Cipher. But I do have around 30 planar girds. Also, while running XC you can get Fragrant Drowshoods and Medium Eberron Dragonshards.

Splinterskull does drop them.

Fire Caves out in Three barrel Cove.

I have pulled one in Depths of Darkness on normal on a sorceror.

Each of the rooms with chaosballs (and keys) have a collectible in the middle. LSS can drop there. Also there's a alchemical table to your right after the first secret door.

When you go for the last key there is a mushroom that can give you Fragrant Drowshrood.

Right, so each of the Key chambers have a potential to drop a LSS/DS.The altar -on the other hand- is a one use i think, if someone hits it, thats it.

I've also found an adventure pack on the ground in the first area of the quest. When you first zone into the jungle area in part one, there is a camp to the right. Most people just rush to the end of the jungle part and fight at the drow, but I've pulled charred and singed out of that pack but never lss.
