found a couple of these while digging around my alts collectibles bags. Good start, guess I'll hang on to these.

Update #3 made falling in Vault of Night 2 no longer fail the quest, and thus it won't reset it. This change makes Vault of Night 2 less worthwhile for gathering Lightning-Split Soarwood.Originally Posted by HavokReeker

So, I ran tangleroot chapter 5 three times last night- once on casual, once on norm and once on hard. I only pulled one lightning split soarwood. I pulled it from the adventurers pack in the spider pit in one of the prison rooms.
I also hit all the mushrooms, cabinets and packs. The only other item of note I pulled is the single fragrant drowshood.
I'll be farming it again tonight and will post my findings afterwards.
Do I have to wait five minutes before re-entering to farm the collectible nodes? As I was unsure of this last night, I waited in between reentries.
Have a nice day!
Rest for the Restless a level L11 quest in House J with a ton icy undead has, I believe, 18 bookshelf nodes & 1 table type. I used to use this quest for the luminescent dusts, but would average a lightning about 1 in 5 runs & medium shard about 1 in 6. May be more difficult to farm than other quests depending on the level of character you're using.
Ive farmed the living bejeesus out of Tanglewood. Ive pulled exactly one (1) lightning split soarwood from there (same cabinet others mention). And my pack is full of medium eberron shards, so there you go for rarity comparisons.
Ive pulled one other in my short few months here, that was in a rubble pile in The Stormvauld Mines. I think. Pretty sure.
Pulled two in one run. Chain of flames. Long quest, so cant farm but 2 in 1 impressed me. In the little huts on the ledges where the gnolls hide.
I get lighting splits from Threnal all the time. And yes, they are not grotesquely rare from the big room in Tangleroot. But Threnal is better.
I'm grateful for the responses. Since last September when I began playing, I've pulled 2 l-s soarwoods in total. I've taken 3 toons to level 20, and farmed nearly a week straight when I originally made this post. Since then, ever single person I've shown the areas to pull them, have pulled them- just not me :P That's ok tho, proseperity for one can bring joy to another.
I was running with a permadeath friend last night, and he pulled one from the cabinet in the main room which holds the 5th prisoner. I've had some friends pull them in Xorian lately as well.
Good luck to all!
Part 4 of Co6 is definately one u want to add to your Soarwood farming.

One place I haven't seen mentioned is VoN 4 (Haywire). I was farming for the Blood Trinket Thingy and noticed the usual singed wood, ceramic bowl, lodgstone, etc. After about 10 runs, pulled a lightning Split wood, and also hit a medium ebberon fragment along the way until I found my trinket. The station to hit is the chemistry table in the middle, between the cages where the named WF is that you have to kill before going up to the fire vents. I think the name is RC-1.
If you really want these, and you have multiple high level toons, you can run one through in about 4 minutes, log out, log onto another toon, and run them through, then switch back to the first toon. That way your not sitting outside waiting for the quest to reset.
Good luck.
If you're solo farming, another way is to add ruined halls and lair of summoning into your list on top of von2.
This is how I do with my caster. Get in von2, run up to maze and get the shelves, teleport out to house K. Run to ruined hall, get the shelf right in front of the 1st shrine, d door out. Get inside lair of summoning which is right next to ruined halls, take a left turn and get the table in 1st room then teleport out to house K. The whole chain should take around 4mins. Now you have enough time to get a drink before von2 resets and do it again.
If you can get a friend to run with you, lair of summoning is probably the fastest, it takes around 30s per run.
