    Default PETITION against ToD changes

    *Update*

Well I'm gonna go ahead and admit, I was stupid. Silly me, thinking people could possibly help themselves from trolling.. haha... I truly do think I was the stupid one there. Couple quick responses, then I guess i leave this post alone. All I wanted to do was get an idea of how many people thought this was a bad idea... people are acting like im starting a union or something, lmao! It seems that most people feel that posting their opions in the much larger discussion thread was good enough, and that's fair... I only intended this to be a simple show of hands, which I well know doesnt make Turbine say *Oh gosh look at them all, clearly we shouldnt do this!* And while a petition is apparently *the quickest way to get ignored*, anyone in the world would be a fool to ignore a certain % of voices... if everyone in DDO actually signed a single petition, unless it threatened Turbines very existence, I guarantee you they would not ignore it. This would never happen of course, but I exagerate to make the point.

And so, with my lesson learned that petitions are a bad idea on forums for a few reasons, I humbly thank those who tried to use this in the way it was meant, curse those who are fools (but that extends far beyond this game. :P) and also thanks to those who, while not using this for what it was meant, actually tried to be constructive without being stupid

So, that said, good gaming to all, see you on the other side hopefully

    *Original Posting*
It looks like noone has done this yet, instead of a discussion I would like to basically get a show of hands for myself AND for turbine how many of us think this is a very, very bad idea.
I, for one, like the raid, and I, for one, will also sadly end up not playing it anymore if this change goes through as planned.... I emplore you Turbine, to rethink this... we had to wait, what, 2 years for Abbot to become playable? Dont make a similar mistake again.... and I say similar, because this one you have full, immediate control over. Leave the darned raid alone, please!

(If some type of change really really needs to be made, then just head back to the drawing board and come up with something else?)

If you agree with the basis of this post, please sign, if you dont, dont sign

(If there is another one of these out there and I missed it, my apologies)

Its nice to see players take an interest. But really, the 374 post thread is all the petition we need.

Start a petition on……oh, I dunno, free mana pots for all. Or something.

I + rep you cause I like where yer coming from.

It's possible, and IMO very likely, that getting boots may become EASIER for each individual character, while still requiring all characters to have them.

the devs have said in the past that "petition" is about the fastest way to get them to ignore your thread since it contains no info they consider useful. Please contribute your support in the larger thread by discussing the WHY it is a bad idea and how it interferes with your gameplay and enjoyment and how it can be improved to meet their objective while still making the game playable for you. That's the stuff they actually read and once in a very long time listen to.

Here I have 11 charchetrs 17 + and I haven't pulled a single blood ingridient. I have pulled 4 of the rest all together.....that leave me with almost a pair of boots. This game is all about grinding.... adding one more of them is a another think I don't wanna do. Grinding is ok but when it gets out of hand like the Reavers Refuge crafting and getting boots I simply give up. I woudn't spend the time grinding for something I have a chance never to get. And trust me I am pretty stubborn. Too much grinding is hard for me to handle and makes me wanna not wanna play......

There's no need to introduce politics into this smatt, or assume the poster doesn't know what this is about.

If anything, from past behavior of the devs, we can be almost dead certain that casters and clerics and the rest will be in need of grinding the pre-reqs for ingredients, those who already have boots will be selling the ingredients on the AH, it will be just another wealth transfer mechanism.

They've never ever made changes like this and then changed something else to offset it. I cannot think of a single one.

Want another dark thought? The drop rate of larges at the shroud is abysmal. If you run to completion every interval, you might have enough for one full normal tier 3 weapon in ten runs at the current drop rate (and fifteen to twenty for a dual shard). Now, they are headed towards epic weapons that require a tier 3 to start with. Do you really think they will increase the drop rate for the standard pre-epic weapons when there's already a cadre of constantly complaining elitists insisting the weapons are overpowered?

The devs historically have chosen to listen to those elitists over the average middle of the road player as a matter of selective perception. That minority of carpers fits with the dev nerf impulse, and they point to it as supporting them, and so it goes.

No way will drop rates raise up enough to make ToD more runnable. It's still end-game level content and they're busy making the low levels a little easier and more balanced, not the end-game.

No sir I was using a compartive point.... That it's possible to come to a REAL conclusion until you have the facts and or evidence at hand..... And as far as I can see, that's the case here.... Jumping to unfounded conclusions with protests in fact it's rather disengenious and realyl shows a lack of understanding or unwillingness to fully grasp all aspects of the situation. When you really don't have a clue as to entire situation is a fine comparision to make in this case.

Well for one. It's not in the release notes. A change like an increase in boot ingredient drops is not likely to be a stealth change.

Secondly. There were no dev clarifications. If they could have stymied the tide of negativity by claiming the boots would be a little more common, they would have.

Thirdly. There is no real past experience setting a precedent for what you describe. When have they changed loot turn ins to be easier after the fact? Tapestries? Tome pages? Shield Pieces? Dragon Scales? Invader Tokens? Adamantine Ore turn in?

And finally... Just because it makes sense and would be a good idea doesn't mean it's possible, let alone likely, that a change will happen. Usually a change being a good idea means it's actually less likely to happen.

Turbine won't back off of design decisions until they're PROVEN to be bad. They give almost no credence to theorycraft.

Not hopeful though as we did this for DA, nerfs to stat damagers, glancing/grazing whatever blows, lame dream forge "crafting", silly DT armor slot machine luck system, etc.

Regardless of the feedback of the player base the Devs made the changes anyway.. some left the game.. most stayed.. and the Earth keeps spinning around...

Was hard enough to get boots on my one good tank(yes, Jill could use some tweaking, but all-in-all she's great) but now having to get them for Saaluta and my other characters that I would have rerolled already if not for the fact that they will soon be reincarnated And yes, some of my girls will be going thru the rein process when I can, but for now, I just don't play them unless my 3-4 main characters are on timer for shroud/tod/vod/hound.

And yes, I will soon be true reincarnating Saaluta, so look for her new and improved soon

    You still haven't signed?

This reminds me of an episode of Family guy.

Pfft, it's been above freezing for the past few days. No coats needed.
