Like the odd RR entries in the beta server AH, it's probably something they put in just in case they ever actually do it. In NWN you can set traps yourself and I've long felt that players should be able to do it too. A simple tripwire can be done by anyone, and you don't need rogue skills. Something more complicated might be reasonable to require a rogue to do, but simple pre-made trap kits at vendors should be usable by anyone.

On the other hand, consider what that means. If we're putting traps down, it might be more than to lead enemies through. They might eventually have quests where respawns are rapid, reinforcements get in within minutes so shrine use is under the gun... Hmmm...

There's been talk from Codog in the past about implementing trap building for rogues. Perhaps this is a sign they've actually spent some time developing mechanics for it?

It would have to be freakin fantastic to entice the fighter and barbarian to allow monsters to be pulled into your trap... as opposed to running up and just killing them.

That said... I'd love for this to be available to my rogue. Would be nice if monsters killed in traps didn't count against your Insideous Cunning bonus also. Would maybe make some quests available to stealth types.

Very cool! I love how these things end up in the compendium.

I wonder if you get these from traps you disable?

I doubt these will be something you toss about all wanton like sun flasks with the big flash! Probably would be great for boss fights or areas where kill zones are already set up. You can just add your 2cp.

These could also be very useful for rogue soloing and stealthing.

Make it so! Oh and BTW, get some of those mystery quests in the game too!
