Ah, to be young again... except when I was your age, I knew who even older singers were like Bobby Darin, Bobby Vinton, and Frankie Valli. My aunt was a Beatles fanatic and my grandparents would play reel-to-reel copies of musical soundtracks like Camelot. Yes, they actually sold them the way they sell music CDs.

Or on iTunes for those who don't know what CDs are.

It's sad that the youths of today aren't getting a really good cultural education at home anymore.

I truly believe Eddie Vedder's sentiment in Kids Against the 70s, but having actually been there for it even as a kid, I can enjoy it freely. Yeah, my father had white bellbottoms and it is still fun to remind him. Somehow, my generation was not too badly formed for being raised in front of the TV and despite the politics of the time, it was not nearly so cynical then as it is now. Yes, I sometimes even miss Donny and Marie, The Mike Douglas Show... Did Kick-Ass HAVE to use the Banana Splits song???

I'm 26 and tragically, I well remember my teen years where Cher would insist on going on her gazillionth? farewell tour and us poor slobs being bombarded with news about it. This was in Sri Lanka too...

I suppose the evening news had nothing better to report during those days.
