    Default Power leveling

hello I am player who has moved here from the Euro servers, there seems to be a lack of awareness about power leveling and it's penaltys, almost daily when in a pug (work shifts so play at strange times) the group leader will add a party member four levels above the lowest member ie; a level six member is joined by a level ten member, this creates a -50% penalty to xp, regardless of the level of the quest.

Please stop this - it shows you lack class.

Alternatively it shows that some people enjoy just playing the game and don't care about optimizing xp. Hard to believe eh?

I seriously doubt it is lack of awareness.

I find it absolutely unacceptable that party leaders accept/invite people outside the party's range without asking the party. Exception is obviously parties that are questing for favor, but even so I believe it's polite to let the party know there's going to be an EXP penalty involved.

Raids on the other hand... I want all the EXP I can get, but if it looks like the raid's not going to happen with that range, I can live with it. In the long run the loot outweighs the EXP. But again, if the LFM had a set level range and made no mention of it being a purely loot/favor run, the leader is expected to let people know.

If the pug leader had a LFM up that showed a level range of 6-10 what is the problem? Or are you saying you joined a pug that was advertised as 6-9 and he let in a 10?

Was not refering to a specific incident that affected myself, but this has happened on many an occasion ie: in a group with a level 8 toon group was LFM as 5-8 with two level six toons in and a level 10 joins, I just feel this is a poor practise. the aim of my post was highlight that power leveling is part of the game mechanism that some players are unaware or do not understand.

Also I have been playing long enough to remember the game before power leveling was introduced, one occasion when a level one wizard was rushed through the first two parts of WW, then his four friends( level ten) took him stormcleave for fast xp.
