Grasp of the Earth Dragon Working?

I used this finishing move prior to fighting the Marut in VON 3, but I swear I got stunned anyway.

I wish I had had the presence of mind to take a screenshot, but I was praying to finishing the quest very hard.


Has anyone else any experience like this?

Summary Edit: Perhaps Grasp works against orange-named Maruts, but not red-named Maruts.

I tried this on the Marut in PoP, and it does prevent the stun, but the blindness still occurs.

OP: I’ve seen the same thing happen with the VoN 3 Marut as well. I’ve always figured it was part of the Cheddar buffs the devs give red named. You should see if you can duplicate the results with Arn0ld in Made to Order.

Hmm Ive had a similar issue with this, but only against Maruts. In Finding the Path there is a red named marut. I noticed it was not working in that fight nor did it work at the end of made to order, against that marut. If Geonis got it to work in pop, the only thing about that marut that is differnt then the others 2 is that he can be smited, hes an orange name. There is one other marut that i have not tested this on and that is the tempest spin marut. Ill have to go and test that now b/c I must know. If im right then it shoulp protect me against his stun b/c he is an orange named, but to be sure ill run pop and see if indeed it works at all.

Grasp of the earth dragon works fine on the end boss in the Dreaming Dark. You take the force damage, but are not stunned.

Same with General Horoth. It makes me wonder if Red Named Marut stun effects aren’t flagged correctly for Grasp of the Earth Dragon.

Strange that red named bosses would be able to get through a buff that purple named can't. I swear that the red marut in the inspired quarter quest doesn't break through the grasp's protection. Maybe von3 is just funky.

He isn't red named on normal. He is on elite though. Not sure about hard.

I guess Maruts are just über. Would that make him a marüt?
