Dungeon alerts are only good for griefing period.

Case in point running out in the desert with a few guildies one decided to run past a ton of mobs going one way while the other was on his way to offering of blood, he managed to get the place to red alert. Me I knew stepping in not to move when you hear over the mic 3 mins later "**** you you got me killed you sob!"

    Good times lol

Other then that it sucks makes explorer areas no fun where they used to be a good place to solo and relax but if your not careful can become a haried nightmare. I hope they figure out how to fix the lag and take this out.

Have to admit is funny going into threnal east and it be green alert 'fore the quest even starts. I do agree that the should base alert on the intelligence of the mob... opres may get wary yet I do not think many vermin and oozes are going to personally alert others to an intrusion.

I never sugar coat anything. Dungeon alert is ridiculous in my opinion. In a game thats already been dumbed down to the point where you dont even need a group for most quests anymore, dungeon alert is not needed. People whould be allowed to play their own style. If they can successfully run past most monsters then so be it. Some quests that you have already ran 1000 times there is no need to kill every creature. Dungeon alert sucks period point blank in my my opinion.

Default My thought on Dungeon Alert

So I was thinking if more then 70% of the forumites all ready said they disaprove of D.A.
    Why would they keep it?
I found out that alot of new players Join date 09-10 Actually dont mind it at all,Mainly because they want the vets to slow down and Help Them. Most Noobs want to explore every rock of a dungeon So Turbine made it so alot of optionals are worth finishing
Basicly we are paying to teach the noobs.
From a buisness View point this is a Very good Idea (imagine if the school's Can make teachers pay to teach)
From a Noobs Viewpoint WoW this is great Vets have to help me
Long time customer 2-4 yrs Feel cheated Cause they were there through all the nerfs (I was a Rage crit 2 Barb dual weilding w/p rapiers)
TR is another way for us to basicly go back from scratch and help Noobs
I Dont like D.A. Myself it takes away the Interactiveness of the game you no longer have many ways to finish a dungeon which D&D was built on But this isnt D&D And Ill bet Gary Gygax is Rolling in his grave over this

They can't compare. They don't have any experience with the non-DA game.

Funny... Most people I know who have been around just don't bother with running with new folks. They get a bunch of friends and run the quests. More so than they did before DA. If you are on a XP extravaganza or running up a lowb in a hurry you don't want someone around who can double your time in the dungeon by running a few steps to the right or left out of ignorance.

No it isn't. Because the reality is that fewer expereinced players are running with new players now than were before. They may be thinking they are getting a good deal, but it could be a whole lot better.

Oh yeah, and if Gary Gygax is actually rolling in his grave over this, he needs a new afterlife.

I feel cheated because I see no discernible difference in the game before or after the change. And we all saw no negative effect in the game while it was gone. People will tolerate a lot of change if they can see the effect. Throwing in a change as irritating as DA, and seeing NO positive change to the game is what makes it so unappealing.

Why? I've been given specific objectives to complete a quest, why should I take 5 times as long just to swing a silly stick around repetitively?
My Videos Shadow Mage (ok, it's a build now)
A forum post should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Exactly. If some xp where given for each kill then fine. Since its not, then if I dont feel like killing, I shouldnt have to.

i was going to mention this as well.
I jus tdid threnal east 3 and was amazed that it was yellow as soon as i walked in the door

I mean the quest hadn't even begun, we jus twalked into a yellow alert with nothing spawned yet!! that was so stupid, we where going to do it on hard, but jus tdecided to let coyle die so we could get out and redo it on normal.

get rid of DA or at the least fix it so quests work.
