    Default Orien Roleplayer Wiki

    Orien Roleplayer Wiki

Orien roleplayers now have a place to post character descriptions, biographies and anything else related to their roleplay here on Orien. This will provide a great place to find other characters to roleplay with and look up relevant information about those characters. Best of all, the whole community can help build and maintain the site.

When adding your characters to the wiki, please try and include sections for physical description and common knowledge. These represent things another character might know about you from looking at you - physical description - and what they might find out by asking around town - common knowledge. You are also encouraged to add a character history and anything else you might like, but these are things that other characters are not likely to know and therefore unable to build a decent basis for RP from.

For an example of how to organize your character page, you can check my entry for Seferis. Keep in mind that this page, like the rest of the wiki, is a work in progress.

If the talented roleplayers I have met on Orien are any indication of what's to come, this should prove to be a great resource for a great community. Here's to good times, good people and great adventures ahead!

Good idea. Consider adding a thumbnail of your character to your example. Also, I'm not sure if Wikia has the tools for it but, if possible, you should add a "Add your character" button to the main page like we had on the DDOwiki. It makes it easier for less wiki-savvy players to add their character. Also, a "copy, paste and fill in the blanks" kind of template would be a good play to help players who don't get wiki markup. Finally, if you've not done so yet, you should add the Orien RP wiki to the fansite listing.

Good luck, and don't forget that a good wiki needs a lot of nurturing to grow well.

I am NOT Wiki-Savvy so that little suggestion made by Borror0 about the template and the 'add a character' thingy sound like REALLY good ideas. If those things were done I would so totally have added Deleria to your Wiki.

I will work on adding some templates and things in the near future. In the meantime, wikia provides and editor that works like a standard word processor. You don't really need to be wiki-savvy to use it. If you would rather bypass the editor and see a source template, just go to Seferis' page, click on "Edit this page" then click "Source."

As far as an add a character button goes, there is one on the left nav bar labeled "Create a new article."

Update: The wiki now has a Character Template for your convenience. You should be able to copy and paste this template straight off the page and into the editor. If you have any problems with that, you can view the source by clicking "edit this page" and then "source."

Also, we need RP guilds to add their in character information to the wiki. If you aren't sure about how to do this, contact me. Generally, if you can get a basic article up with the information, I can help you format it.
