Whoa, hold on a sec! Your correct about D2, but shadowbanes whole point was pvp. If you played SB for pve i feel very sorry for you.
OP, i am a pvp fanatic and even i think pvp in this game is a horrible waste of time. In fact, i would go so far as to say there isnt ANY in this game. Without balance there is no pvp, just slaughter.
coming to DDO for the PVP is like going to Mac Donalds for a salad or a brothel for a hug. Sure you can do it, but its not really what its there for.
PVP has a tendency to turn normal well adjusted people into snarling arsehats, with no interest in anything other then knowing how to kill you as quickly as possible. Outside of WoW PVP really has very few fans... atleast in MMO's produced in the last 5 years. DDO has always been a pretty friendly place with a generally friendly attitude (bar a few individuals). As a general rule PVP has a tendency to kill these warm fuzzy deelings, as everyone clambers over there own grandmothers to get the ultimate weapon, armour, magical-do-dadd combination to kill everyone else (which is why high level players have no problem tooling around in PVP, they've already worked there way up through the ranks & are now just messing around, which is not a problem).
PVP has never been, nor ever will be a focus of the DDO development team & i would like to thank them right now for providing us with so much interesting story missions instead. You want PVP go to WoW, you want interesting team adventuring like at DDO.
