There are people who like to pvp, why not have pvp events and pvp kill counters that show up as titles for winners along with item/plat prizes for winners of tournaments in individual and group pvp matches?

ummm because DnD is not centered around PvP
Roll another character. Once you have 10 characters on all servers completed geared out, TRed 10 times to completionist, then we can talk.
The only people who heavily PvP do it just as much as they do other endgame content - how else do they level up and gear out so many characters?
This game, whether you like it or not, has more than enough going for it besides PvP. It will never become a priority.
PS I like this thread more than your other, because at least in this thread you don't tell us how to create a rating system, since, with your obvious lack of understanding of how this game works, you would inevitably come up with a nonfunctional system.

NO. Go play WoW or some other PvP oriented game. I have never met anyone in DDO that considers PvP as anything but filler when not raiding.
Know that to someone somewhere you are the biggest fool.
Another calls you the wisest of the wise.
But most just do not care what you have to say.
Little bit of common sense might actually spring forth from the most unexpected of wells.
There should never be tangible rewards for PvP in this game. It is simply not set up for it - and PvP itself was shoehorned in.
The only people I know who treat PvP seriously at end-game are the people who get off on one-shotting lowbies in the Lobster.
PvP has never been a huge priority of the Dev team, and I hope it never is.
Yeah, its a pain when you go into an combat area of most pubs with a party member or friend to check on various saves/ac/ to hit, or to see how much your blocking with a shield helps ( at lvl 4-10 ) and get insta-killed by lvl 18-20 casters that have nothing better to do then making my task almost impossible.
It would be nice if they could add lvl ranges to the various pubs and class restrictions too. so us melee types could go and test out new weapons and armor with a friend without the "godly" casters making me sad that magic hurts me soo much. :-)

When PVP was first added to DDO it had a leaderboard to show who was winning more.
That was removed, because it was stupid. Automated ratings of PVP outcomes will not make any sense unless the underlying PVP gameplay was first improved to the point of being basically fun.
When you add a rating system to an imbalanced PVP game, it becomes less fun because players are less willing to be a "good sport" and work around the various flaws.
