it's one request/suggestion that has been escalated into some all consuming desire for pvp that has bent all of my actions.
    drama duly noted.

The problem isn't that you want PvP, its that you continue to argue for it not only against people who are adamant, but also argue that its a good idea, when many posters, including myself, have seemed to prove otherwise.

if you think a small number of long time forum regulars who share the same views is proof then i guess you suscribe to a different version of epistemology than i do.

Rarely are the forums a good sample of the gaming population. More often than not, however, they are saner, and understand what is a good suggestion, and what is not.

However, in the case of PvP, forumites are both.

I hope that the person who neg repped you did it for a post that shows your lack of reason and superiority complex rather than your difference of opinion.

    Ok, heres a valid Point.

I play on Argonessen. When i go into the Lobster, I see at peak times, maybe fifty people in the PVP pit.

    AT MOST.

Then, I look to the LFM screen and see twnety to thirty groups up looking for more players. I go to the Who Screen and I see about 80% if the servers population that is not Anonymous, INSIDE QUESTS.

Does this speak to the popularity of PVP?

I think it does. But hey, thats just my oppinion, backed up by Facts that i observed on multiple occasions in the game I play alot more than i should.

    Anything else?

Wow, you're really full of self importance. People like you just do these mental, gymnastics, trying to see that what they say is correct, beyond all others.

You get the gold Medal for foolish Thinking.

If you really think that 50 peope in the lobster, along with say, twenty in one or two other taversn constitutes a VAST NUMBER or A HUGE OUTCRY, you're wrong, and theres nothing that can change that.

PVP is a minority. The more people that join this game, the more PVPers we will have. Also, the HUGE group of people that play this game as PVE will also increase. The ratio IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE SIGNIFICANTLY.

PVP is good. It should be added to, and crafted into something fun that we can do with our spare time.

Should it be focused on? NO. This is not the game for that.

is really great but the fact of the matter it's not up to you and you don't have any real reason to condemn pvp other than it isn't your cup of tea.
you can't 'beat me' at this not because one of us is right over the other but because it's something that is a preference of gameplay time spent which, again, you cannot dictate to everyone else or say that 'ddo is not the game for pvp' when pvp clearly exists in the game and could be developed further.
i really don't understand what your problem is. if you don't like pvp, just don't bother with it or this thread. no one cares, no one is looking at what you have to say to base their decisions in future game development, and no one is impressed with your personal attacks.

The reason you created this thread was to have this argument with me, or someone like me. It gained you neg rep, and gained me positive rep. The social ramifications mean nothing.

This game is amazing. It is a game i have played for years. I love it. I want this game to flourish.

Will it flourish if PVP becomes something that is majorly implemented? Not necessarily.

Will it flourish if PVE Content is focused on? I believe that it will. far in excess of if PVP was the main focus of say, the next six months of raw development time.

Your arguments are all ridiculous, and have no baiss in fact. I've been here for years. Seen people come and go.

Should PVP be improved? Sure. At the cost of Content being developed? NO.

What you suggest is a PVP oriented update. I believe that people would cancel subscriptions if PVP was the main focus of an entire update.

I'm going off a couple years of forum reading and discussions ingame. Just so you know.

I never condemned PVP itself. I condemned extensive Dev time put into furthering it.

Exactly the same can be said of you, so why even bring it up? To focus on the harsh parts of the debate?

Why not focus on your no facts, your oppinion only posts and compare them to Mine where I give statments brought about by my time in game?

Or have your few weeks really given you a broad look at what DDO really is?

i'm aware of the ongoing debate. my reasons for believing that a pvp development would help the game are really summed up in the existence of older games like 'Shadowbane' and 'Diablo 2'

think about how small the game of diablo 2 was. you could play the entire game all the way through one difficulty in a few short hours. what made it last as a popular game for over a decade? the ability for people to pvp.

shadowbane. still being played to this day as is diablo 2. why? entirely because of pvp.

these are just 2 quick examples. do i think that a full on pvp mod would be intelligent ? lol... no....
i'd be shocked if a pvp mod came out. i think content has been ddo's biggest issue since it went live and it is shaping up nicely. i'd like to see content continue to be developed above all else with a steady but slow development of pvp as a side note in every mod.

Sure, it works for other games. Like someone already said way up there. There was once a PVP leaderboard. It was taken down due to players not paying any attention to it.

Diablo2 and Shadowbane, flourished due to PVP. Why? Becuase the game content was not enough to satisfy most players.

People come to this game to play DND on their computers. Some people do it because they have no friends to game with in their town. Some play it because they want to play a DND based MMO, not anything else. What i have come across most in this game is that people come here for the DND.

In Pen and Paper DND there is little to no intraparty conflic that results directly in combat. Therefore the storylines and rules set are not slnated towards balance in a PVP environment.

I'm not saying the community couldn't handle a larger PVP setting, I'm saying the game mechanics are slanted so heavily towards PVE that PVP has become an unbalanced mess.

Oh I have to ask. This is not a personal attack. Your join date is december 09......is that your DDO join date or are you a banned player on a f2P account?
