Default what should a sorcerer try to achieve by using gear?

I'm a level eight sorcerer. I love being able to run solo content by using cc to get monsters to fight themselves.

However my gear is a mess. I get very few loot drops that are useful even though I have the loot for class enabled.

Should I get charisma gear? Should I get gear to boost saves? Does twilight armor help?

    Thanks for the help.

    In most cases, forget armor.

You want to find the best of the following items:
    • fortification
    • +con
    • +chr
    • false life
    • spell point item (wizardry, power, or magi)
    • potency
    • focus items (for example Enchantment focus items to boot the DC of those charms you like)

    Items that don't hurt:

    • Resist elements robes/cloaks
    • +Dex items (reflex saves, AC)
    • +Str items (loot is heavy)
    • +wis items (will saves unless you have taken Force of Personality)
    • +UMD items (you did max out your UMD skill right?)
    • permanent featherfall items

It is very hard gearing up a first character as you tend to get the items a couple levels after you would really like them, just find the best you can as you go.

Also the "class rewards" only helps with your end reward, all chest loot is random.

Aid clickies and False Life clickes can sure come in at lower levels, especially since they stack with each other.

My newbie sorc literally gets an extra 50% boost to HP by using both clickies.

Does the "Lesser/Normal/Greater False Life" perma-effect on items stack with the arcane spell False Life? I'm assuming no, but figured I'd ask just in case.

Carrying a wand of False Life can be very helpful hit point padding, especially early on.

Yes, the spell will stack with false life items.

Yes they stack... I still use it at high level too... extra hp is extra hp... also pick up a stoneskin wand or the spell... the extra dr can be a lifesaver.
