There's a monster called a Joy stealer that removes a characters ability to feel strong emotion. After long years of study wizards have finally adapted magic to simulate this effect to cripple the loud and crude barbarians from upsetting tea time.

Where are you getting your rage dispelled? Beholders don't dispel it. Break Enchantment doesn't dispel it. What are you losing your rage to?

Are you hitting the Dismiss Rage button? Or are you performing an action (such as moving) in that split second between activating rage and its taking effect, and not getting the bonus?

    Default From a beholder

I remember going up against a beholder... forgot the name or what not...

I was happily whacking away at it until suddenly i noticed my Rage got removed and i got disintegrated ><

Sounds to me like one of 3 things happened:
1)Your rage duration expired without your realizing
    2) You accidentally hit your Dismiss Rage button
    3) You never activated rage (hit button, ran, you saw the animation and the cooldown, but the effect didn't actually kick in)

I don't mean to sound belittling, but I just did VoN 2 and 3 a few days ago and didn't notice any problems with rage. My suggestion, is go find a beholder and see what happens. If it is replicable, then we have a problem.

Thinking about it...what race are you? Maybe neg levels are impacting rage duration? Or Con damage?

I vote for option (3). Happens a lot.

Nope, i don't have the dismiss rage on my hot bar

And i raged just before the boss fight, the icon is up, it should last 1 minute plus at least! I died in about 10 seconds after charging in, to disintegration.

when i died, i scrolled back to see my combat messages, the raged was dispelled....:/

So, you raged, ran in, died to disintegrate, then checked your combat log to see what happened?

If this is the case, then you're just misinterpreting the way the combat log works. When you die, it lists each of your buffs individually and says that they were dispelled. It also won't necessarily read this out in the proper order (ie. <such and such buff has been dispelled> <you were killed by X> <you failed a save vs. disintegrate: 5 (+15)>)

The combat log is a very mediocre tool for determining what happened when things go sideways.

I also noticed my buff icon was being removed 1 by 1 when the fight was on going. Pretty sure when i failed the save on disintegrate, my rage was gone before that

Barbarian rage absolutely cannot be dispelled by anything in the game. Nor can frenzy, action boosts, uncanny dodge or any other abilities granted directly by a class feat or enhancement.

The only possible way it gets removed is death.

You died to a beholder while raged (being raged does not make you immune to disintegrate btw), so your combat log reads like this:
Your rage has been dispelled (rage spell a party member may have cast on you)
    You died.
Your barbarian rage has been removed.
Your resist energy: fire has been removed.
(etc, for every effect you have that is removed on death)
Beholder hits you with disintegrate you roll a 1: Fail.
    You are hit by antimagic.
    You take 200 damage.

As you can see the above is log is accurate, but listed in a totally insane order. This is how the combat log works, it lists things in a completel illogical fashion.

    That's probably what confused you.

Never trust the combat log, it's worthless unless you understand how it was coded by monkies and try to decipher it.

If there is anybody who knows how rage behaves around beholders, Shade is the man. This isn't some obscure game mechanic interaction, so I'd take his word as law in this case.

If you need any more assurance, barbarians have been out since day one. Beholders have been out since shortly after day one (a few months?). Now, I haven't been around for that long, but I have never read about someone's rage getting dispelled, and I have never experienced it.

    Default shades right

I have a capped barb and one almost capped both have killed many beholders and i have never gotten my barb rage disspelled the only rage that has gotten disspelled off of him is the casters rage and madstone rage, so i think its pretty much imposible to disspell barb rage.

It is impossible that the beholder dispelled madstone rage too.

umm tough call on that one but i really think that he hit rage and it didn't go off and what got disspelled on him was a casters rage or a rage pot, or clicky

Nope, only way to lower rage time is con damage and that's before the rage is triggered.
