Thumbs up The Silver Legion on Cannith

Hello, I am the new leader of the Silver Legion on the Cannith server (our previous leader left on the best of terms for personal reasons ). I'm here to let you know that The Silver Legion, as always, is recruiting.

Tired of frustrating PUGs, grinding away solo, and not really getting to know anyone on the server? If you are a mature, friendly, and courteous player, we'd like to see you in our guild. You've probably seen many of our members around before and maybe played with them too. We are now one of the largest and most active guilds on the server, and with good reason.

First and foremost, we are about the player behind the character. We have no play requirements, and readily take people new to DDO. Most of our players are still exploring and learning the game, and our more seasoned adventurers will help you find your feet too. The majority of our players have families, jobs, and other real life things to deal with, and so we are very patient and emphasize that real life comes first.

We also adhere to a code of conduct that has served us very well. In brief:

    • No swearing, and no crude or offensive language is allowed
    • Treat everyone with respect
    • Maintain a mature attitude at all times
    • Communication is key, and as such some use of our forums is required

The Silver Legion is part of Guild Medieval--a large, multi-game guild established in 2001. It's primary focus at inception was to provide a safe, family-friendly play environment in Diablo II, and it has been growing and branching out into other games ever since. The website is at www.guildmedieval.com.

If all this sounds good to you, read over the website and then click "Join" at the top. "Realm" is "DDO", and choose "n/a" for "Recruited by" so I know you learned about us from this posting. If accepted, you should receive an e-mail back in about a day with further instructions. If you do not receive the e-mail or have questions about the guild, feel free to PM me here or contact one of our officers in-game.

    Thumbs up

As a member of The Silver Legion, I'd like to chime in with some thoughts here

I am proud member of The Silver Legion for about 3 months now. We are all about personality of our members, rather then them being a powergamers or something .
    Something about us:

We are a bunch of serious, mature and friendly people who happen to love DDO , and we're in constant search for alike persons. We welcome all players who respect others and know how to behave themselves. DDO is easy to learn, while personality is -well- not so easy to learn :P.

DDO-wise, we have pretty good players on-board, which can and are willing to help a lot. I was totally newbie when I joined ranks, and learned a lot from them, tho I have a long way to go yet . Of course, it works vice versa, too, there are many members eager for the advice of you, more experienced players. Most of our members are American (surprise, huh?), but our European base is steadily growing. We own very nice forum, similar to this one, full of useful information, scheldued raids, guild's Scavenger's Hunt, etc.... It's our main meeting place, so our members are expected to appear there every now and then

So. We care about you, and less about your toons. Therefore, your ranks, f2p/p2p status, level, class, are NOT IMPORTANT. Our only requirements are
    -be nice;
    -have fun.
    Simple

Playing DDO, I've noticed that there are many really nice players searching for this kind of 'sanctuary' for them.
    You've found it.
    Thank you for your time.

I like the name. The Silver Legion, so I'll check it out after I pass the newb status. I usually play at night after 10 pacific, after the wifey goes to bed so does many play at that time? Another question, aproximately how many members do you have?

I don't play at that time, but we do have a few people in Asia and Australia, and a quite a few in Europe. There are generally 6 to 10 people on off-peak. We have about 200 players right now, but many are casual.

While not a member of the Legion, I must say that I am impressed by the quality of players that the Legion has amassed. So far every Legionnaire I've partied with has been both fun to work with as well as skilled. Just some insight from an outsider.

We have had a very good influx of applications and I've been really pleased by how many great people we've found by these forum posts.

Just a quick note for applicants--we really don't reject that many people, so if you think you should have gotten a reply and did not, please check your spam mail folder. Our form letter seems to get filtered out more than we'd like. Also, please don't hesitate to contact me here if you did not receive a reply within 24 hours.

The sun never sets on The Silver Legion.

The only time we don't have folks online, is Server Downtime.

If you agree with our ideals, we can fit you in.

This so true. The other thing I noticed lately is that high level players are joining more and more often. We have people leveling to 20 fairly regularly. The least I have seen on at any given time is greater than ten.

There is now a weekly guild raid for the high levels that doesn't get PuG'd anymore.

If you think our ideals and friendly manner suit you, then I truly recommend that you look us up in game.

Just be warned that some forum use is mandatory.

This guild just keeps growing. It is full of even more of the people that make this game so much fun.

Hey. We're still looking for mature players who want a more laid-back and family friendly environment.

There's a lot of noise out there with guilds looking for quick adds to boost their renown. Blind invites and aggressive poaching methods seem to be the standard now. We are also getting quite a few applications from those who are just seeking to be part of any large guild, and the applicants strangely assume we'll bend our rules to suit their style.

That's not us. We are the same guild we've been for the past 10 years--always looking for people we could be friends with in real life, and in fact we forge longtime friendships in our games and on our forums. We're content with our renown gain rate in both of our in-game guilds and are still seeking the same types of people to join that we always have.

If you are reading this, you're hopefully one of those looking to cut through the recent guild noise and find a group like us. Check out the first post in this topic and if you decide to fill out an app, please make sure to fill out the "in detail" section so we know if you'll be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

Default just wanted to chime in...

    Hello..

I have been a member of guild medieval...aka silver legion for over a month. I am Australian..and you will find people on who are from all over...though most are from America. I find the guild to be a family online. They are always understanding if you have to leave from a quest because of rl. They are coureous and helpful. A pleasure to group with.

Great if you play occasionally as a family...

As our leader says you don't have to be an expert player...and others are very understanding of all ability levels.

I recommend this guild to anyone genuinely interested in hanging out online, onship and inquests...and doing quests as they were meant to be done...everyone on vent..talking and strategising...and noone left behind!

It doesn't matter if you are starting at level one ...right up to the expert players...there seems to be all sorts and everyone inbetween.

    Cheers Ivorygem

There used to be al lot more in this thread, I think I need to let one of our officers know to check this out. I have been in the Guild since Jan . 2013 and really enjoy the people. There is a "GMness" that is refered to and it suits me just fine. Also bump
