    Default crashing at Turbine screen

    I downloaded the free trial yesterday and played three times for an hour or so each time. Today I cant play the game. Every time it crashes at the Turbine logo screen, no specific error message or anything. I read through some of the forums but I'm not going to spend all day/s with possible fixes. Anyone have a sure fire solution?

    Thank you.

    I am having this exact same issue. I login successfully. It does the normal checks and then tries to enter into the world. The screen goes black for a second like it normally would when switching to the game, but then immediately just shuts down. I see my desktop and there is no indication that DDO was even running.

    I tried a different server and one interesting thing is that the next time I tried to go in it recognized that I had visited another server.

    I tried turning off antivirus software and firewalls.

    I completely removed the game from my system and reinstalled it, but it is doing the same thing.

    I sent in a game ticket to turbine as well, but that says 1-2 weeks until it gets answered. Would be awesome to play again before then.

    I have tried 2 more things since last posting. I have followed the instructions that I found in the knowledge base regarding the game losing focus from another program. I did a clean startup and disabled other things from starting but that did not change the results. I also did a system restore to 48 hours ago when the game was working fine. This still did not change the results.

    Anyone have any suggestions for this? I am really wanting to play the game again. I can't believe that technical support takes over a week to get. I am willing to try any suggestions.

    Thanks to another post I was able to get the game working again.

    This was the suggestion for fixing it.
    Find your UserPreferences.ini file (in Documents and then the D&D Online folder) and edit the appropriate line to read:
    ShowIntroMovie=False

    However, when I went to do this "ShowIntroMovie=False" was already there. I decided to try to change it to true just to see what happened and it actually worked.
