    Question Speed is the issue?

OK, I'm a noob, of sorts.

I've played quite a few MMOs though I am new to DDO.

I prefer to play a human rogue, though I do enjoy just wading in with the sword/axe sometimes. Up till recently I have mainly played solo while learning the dungeons, how the game plays etc. I've been joining groups now and then, not being picky about the quests, just being happy to tag along, and get my share in the kill ratio (I want to be earning my XP, after all) and generally learning how to play in a group.

What I am finding though, is that other characters are SO MUCH faster than I am. Even when there's a little bit of Barbarian in my toon, I lag along at the back of the group, and am among the last through a doorway. (This may be helping my kill ratio of course as I won't have agro so get in lots of sneak attacks). Is it a racial thing that halflings, elves and even dwarves are outstriding me as we run down corridors? It doesn't seem to matter about classes or levels, though I do see Barbs in the lead most of the time.

    Cheers

They are drinking Haste Pots, Using Expiditious Retreat, or Have better striding items than you. The Racial Modifiers to Speed are incredibly minor if they actually exist at all.

You are right it does help your aggro managment. If you are with the tail end or can see the group you are doing fine. take the sprint boost from barbarian if you havnt may help a little more. did the same thing putting a lvl of barbarian on my rogue when first started so i could keep up easier. Most vets know where to go without thinking about it. with being new the 2-4 seconds it takes you to orientate yourself after a fight or you hesitate or stop to look at something is what kills most people in keeping up. vets have seen it 100 times before and dont bother to look.
