    Default Solo Leveling: 11-13

Does anyone have some suggestions for quests that are good to solo (well, with a cleric hireling for emergencies) for XP around levels 11-13 for a monk? I'm now up to a level range I don't have any experience with in any class, so I don't know what to expect in the quests... And unfortunately, DDOwiki is still down.

I've been able to solo Stormcleave, most of VON (maybe all but the raid, still working my way through), Skyros' Jewel, Reclamation, and whatnot easily... But I'm not sure where to go from here. Reason I'm asking is because I don't want to get into a quest and find I can't really do much about it, such as when I attempted Made To Order and found it was mostly golems, or the dreaded first time I ever did Church and the Cult with my rogue and realized I couldn't beat the vampire.

And yes, grouping would certainly be a better way to go and I try to group as often as I can, but there aren't many English-speaking groups my level on Cannith anymore, and I'd rather try to quest nonstop instead of waiting for party members while we've got +20% xp.

    Thanks in advance.

Dont know if its the answer you are looking for, but i usually run around rarehunting in gianthold while searching for a group

but i spose that dont help much with the 20% exp... maybe do the troll cave in gianthold? i soloed w helper cleric at level 14 no problem. also there is another..one level 13 in gianthold in NW corner of map but i cant remember the name and im at work now typeing on my phone

EDIT: oh yea, and the very north east corner of gianthold has two walk up quests and is very easy for a monk and good xp too

A guildie and I have been recently leveling up some TR'd toons and just got to this level range as well, mostly just the two of us so far. With that being said, we decided to do the desert quests and I was extremely surprised to see that The Tomb of the Wizard King has phenomenal xp in it! The quest itself is around 10-12k, but it was really doing the optionals that gained the most xp, more than the quest itself actually.

Now soloing this could be difficult, but as long as you are prepared, you should be ok. Definately make sure you have a reavers ring (or some other form of fear immunity) because mummy fear will get you killed otherwise. A disease immunity item and lots of curse removal pots as well. Not to mention the other standard solo stuff, heal pots, haste pots, etc...

Something for clay golems would also be useful.

It was taking us around 35-45 mins to clear out all the optionals but it was very much worth it for the xp.

Other than that... if you havn't hit The Pit yet, it should still be worth a decent amount for you even though you are lv 11 now. Although if you don't know how to solo the third furnace room, you may not want to try that one.

    Good luck and happy hunting

I almost forgot to warn you of one other thing in wizard king. Some of the mummys will try to use slay living on you... with a hireling cleric to raise you just in case, it shouldn't be too bad. The tangleroot DW clickie would be good to have (or multiple ones). There are lots of shrines in there as well so you should be able to keep yourself death warded through most of it. Also to get at the shrines in the center you may need to bring an int item or fox cunning pots.

Just running around in the desert for slayers/rares is pretty decent XP, and so is Orchard. Vale is awesome when you hit 13.

Thanks for the suggestions. The explorer areas and whatnot I'll save for after the Festivult so I can maximize gains from my playtime while the XP bonus is in effect. I'll give the pit a go, I haven't done it full yet on my monk (had to logout about halfway through last time I went in) and it should give a big boost in XP. The desert quests sound like my best bet, I'll just run Tangleroot a time or two to get some extra visors (only have one currently). I'm also guessing level 10 quests might be good ones to look into, and maybe I'll try soloing Tempest Spine if I feel like being ballsy this weekend. I'll also give the shadow crypt series another run (and if I'm lucky, convince some guildmates to farm the crypt for me), that should net me another rank or so.

For the desert quests, anything in particular I should make sure to have such as any specific resists?

Fire and acid seem to be the most common things that get thrown at you in the desert quests. Resist 20 pots are good to carry around... you get them in The Twelve. My melee's usually carry around 20 of each resist pot just in case.

Some of the mummys will also try to dispel you. It didn't seem to happen to me overly often but when it does, bye bye buffs.

The single most important thing to have is fear immunity in the desert... not just pots. Mummy fear will paralyse you and that will be the end of things. I try to get reavers rings on most of my guys. GH will also make you immune, but those clickies are not easy to come by and if you get debuffed you will be screwed again... they also won't last long enough in a quest like Wizard King.

As for The Pit. The best way to learn your way around in that quest is as soon as you step in, go for a tour. Each door has a sign on it telling you what it is. Other than the very first room to go to, and the very bottom, there will be no monsters around to bother you while you learn where you need to go.

If you don't know how to solo the last furnace room, that could be a road block for you. I suggest going to YouTube and looking up The Pit Solo. There is a very good video in there that helped me learn how to do it back when that quest used to scare me. Now it is my all time favorite quest in the game

The walkups in the desert are also much better xp than they used to be, and are pretty short. Both the Tomb of the Astrologer and the Tomb of the Physician are really close to the Wiz-King so it's easy to get there. And you can do bloodstone runs while you're there

Both the other tombs have almost identical maps, and you'll be facing gnolls and zombies with a few mummies sprinkled in.

Also, if you hug the right wall when you enter the desert and go into that canyon in the north, theres a walkup there. Its incredibly easy. Full of fire reavers and mephits, with one wraith and a mummy at the end. I was a few over level and it was still 6k+ xp when I finally got around to doing it. Just checked my quest log and the name of the quest is "Purge the Fallen Shrine."
