Improved Damage Reduction feats are a mistake as are the enhancements. They do NOT stack with the DR 10/Epic Capstone.

Definitely pick up Improved Critical Bludgeoning though.

Also consider Weapon Focus Bludgeoning or possibly Stunning BLOW along with the WF Tactics enhancements. If you go the Stunning BLOW route, put your level-ups into Strength and use Weighted handwraps to increase the Stun DCs significantly.

    Thank you for the advice.

Especially for explaining WHY you think I should do X. That really helped. I didn't think of the capstone not stacking.

    +1 for the tips

    Thanks!!

Greetings dsebutchr, I thought I'd mention a few things I saw as well.

Even though you appear to be DEX-based (from you getting GM in Wind), I would still suggest you pick up the first level of the other stances as well. While you'll never use them (except for Fire in the early levels probably), the Finishing Moves are strong enough to justify it. The Fire/Light/Fire one gives +2 to skill checks, saves and attack rolls, and the Water/Light/Water one gives your casters -25% casting costs in their spells, both for one minute. Getting the second level of Water and Fire lets you get Unbalancing Strike and Eagle Claw Attack which can also help debuff enemies. Ideally I'd take the first level of Earth, the second level of Fire and take Wind and Water both to GM.

Also I'd recommend Way of the Clever Monkey as opposed to Way of the Patient Tortoise. Way of the Monkey gives you energy resist 8 across the board which will stack with Resist Energy. Also a couple Melf's Acid Arrows can drain your health pretty quick, but you'll be almost completely immune to them with Way of the Monkey.

Finally, I'd suggest you go with Stunning Fist instead of Stunning Blow, even though Weighted weapons don't increase the DC. The reason for that is Stunning Fist is based on your WIS modifier, and you have a lot more reason to raise that as opposed to STR (higher AC, higher DCs on all your special attacks, more max Ki).

Anyway, good luck with your Monk.

Aylin, check his latest feat selections...he's doing neither Stunning Fist nor Stunning Blow.

Arkat why do you say the damage reduction upgrades are bad?
You said they do not stack with epic dr 10 capstone. Monks do not get a DR/10 capstone, they get this:

    Serenity
Prereq: Level 20 Monk, 74 Action points spent
    Cost: 2 Action Points
Benefit: You are a paragon of understanding and serenity. Your Concentration is increased by 10 and your centered ki generation is increased by 1.

Concentration goes up 10, DR is unaffected. So if you do not take DR upgrades, your DR sucks in a nutshell.

I've been hesitant to take your advice because you seem to be wrong. If I have misread please educate me. Where are you getting an epic DR 10 at level 20?

It's a free feat you get at level 20 monk, not the capstone enhancement itself.

Ahhhh I see. The free feat for lvl 20 does not stack with the enhancements etc. So choosing them is a waste.

    rest has it right.

I mistakenly thought of the 20th level Monk Class Feature "Perfect Self" as part of the capstone enhancement.

In my mind, I thought of all the cool abilities a pure 20th level Monk can get and sort of rolled them all up into one group.

    Sorry for any misunderstanding.

The end result still remains the same - the Improved Damage Reduction feats and enhancements still will not stack with a Pure 20th level Monk's 10/Epic DR he/she gets from the "Perfect Self" class feature.

If only a monk could choose, oh i dont know adamantine DR like a FvS, then it'd stack.
