Why would you want to go to Gianthold at level 8 anymore anyway? You don't get the xp bonus for being lower level than the quest anymore. No point in going to GH until around level 12.

... and that is why the dev's told Cydonie to add the "You must be this tall." sign before the ride... is not that they feel your level is too little, they just want to sell more tickets over at DQ.

The whole motivation before for going out there at level 8 or 9 was the HUGE xp bonus you could get for being 5 levels below the level of the quest, you could run Madstone, Crucible, and PoP to death and be Vale level in a day or two. The XP bonus is gone now, combined with heavily nerfed XP for what once were the "Big 3" quests (Pop was of course nerfed long before the other two). So even if they hadn't added the minimum level, I doubt it would be as popular as it once was.

The Desert has always had great XP but people always skipped it over in favor of Gianthold. Menechtarun is experiencing a bit of a revival right now, not like that's a bad thing though

I agreed, I did raise my wizard in her awkward years in giant hold... level eight and tbf ... the xp was good back then.

That's just theories how many 'really' done it that way and get lv14-16s in 2 days? As far as i knew those who done gh at lv7-9s level a lot slower than doing level appropriate quests. XP/TIME is at peek around level 6-10 just before deserts. You're talking about avg of 5K xp per minute vs 500 xp per minute. thats a huge difference. Here's the thing. You can run a whole chain of quests under 30mins and get 100K or more XP or you can do a much higher level quest that gives 30-40K XP with completion time of 1 hour or more, which do you prefer? I choose the former easier and less resources spent.
