Rangey Ranger Build Advice?

Hi, im lookin for a build for a range speced arcane archer ranger, i have 28pt builds, drow and wf, but no stockpile of tomes, although i may be able to pull some +1 ones.
some focus on stealth would be nice but i dont need rogue skills. i want him to start with at least 10 wisdom at the start
im looking for something to play for mostly group play, but will be able to solo at times
(PS. what im not looking for is a rant about how all rangers should only be tempast etc)

This looks to me like a pretty melle type build...

you need str to do dmg, you need dex to hit, you need con to have hp and your 10wis

its a good ranged build

yes, archers need str too

for skills:
hide and ms (cause you want sneaky side)
spot
balance
umd

for feats:
weapon foucs ranged
point blank shot
mental toughness
imp crit ranged
weapon finesse
toughness

With a 16 starter Dex you will have racial enhancements and items to raise it. You will not have any trouble hitting at range.

Being strength based gives you a LOT more ranged damage and capabilities in melee because even an arcane archer needs to melee now and then.

I've made two rangers and the one Human str based I built for tempest Melee was better at ranged damage than the dex based Drow I made for arcane archer.
