this game is actually no exception. there are intentional oversights that allow us to profit.
why do you think it's like stealing?
I never understood people who cheated at video games why play if you cant loose I thought the whole point was to play for the challenge of it and to finally beat the thing, I cant see what kind of feeling you get from beating something with no risk. No the exploits arent in there for us to find and use they are something that either they didnt think of or doesnt work like they thought.

some games i was happy to beat legit-like. like beating contra with just 3 lives was pretty cool.
games that take eons to beat or have no end make me feel more inclined to just acquire as much wealth as possible by any means i can - since the goal isn't really victory but the acquisition of wealth.

Using any method to loot a chest or accept quest reward with any character who did not complete the related quest objective from start to finish.

Would this include farming 1 part of a quest chain that gives oodles of XP for a short run?

are you looting a chest you didn't earn farming 1 part? Are you getting the end reward of a quest for farming part one? If no, then that line doesn't apply.

Giving you an unfair advantage when bidding on AH items and, if widespread enough, driving up AH prices beyond what honest players can afford. Causing players to quit in disgust. That's why they will boot your ass if they catch you. Your sploiting imaginary plat ends up taking real money out of their pockets.

You need to go back to law school if you think that has any application here.

This is a good rule of thumb. Play the game as intended, you won't have any problems.

Exploiting in an MMO can have more consequences than simply enhancing your gameplay. As has been mentioned here, exploits can ruin the economy, hamper fun for other players, and most importantly exploits can actually negatively effect server performance and cause serious game issues.

In short, don't exploit. If you ever have questions about whether something is or isn't an exploit, you can PM myself, Tolero, or 404error.
