    Default Manners

Is this server becoming more rude? I have seen a rise in abrupt party leaves with no; thank you, you guys stink, reroll, i can solo better, etc. It seems to be worse on Sarlona than the other servers. Same with new guys in group. I've seen a few people get downright nasty to them for not knowing a trap was there. Or they spawned an extra mummy in Wiz King. Am I missing something or is that acceptable behavior?
    It wasn't always like that.

Can't say I have seen a major change, not everybody says Thanks but then some never did. I always type thanks for group in party chat because i rarely speak unless with people I have known awhile. As for the rest hopefully that will go away as people get used to one another.

you would rather see a: "Ok <insert your or your friend's name here> you *** suck badly i dont see any chances of finishing this with this *** group. *****" ?

i usually just leave without explanation instead of enraging on people's stupidity...

If I get to the point where I feel its absolutely necessary to drop group I tend to at least say "you know what this isnt working." But I wont lie by that point im normally so frustrated its best I dont say much period.

Its always been this way though even before the influx in a bad run people will leave, if its a good run maybe they got hounded by friends/guildies to join another group or had to go. I know this is a social game but a lot of times once a group is over unless ive nothing better to do id sooner part ways and move onto the next.

idk, I always type "ty for the group all" even when it was a excruciating run

when it's a good group I might say more.

There are more drop mid quest people then ever before. These are often saying nothing. They go right on my do not group list. Lot's of noobs out there atm. Correcting someone for mistakes in group is not a bad thing usually just when it is done by yelling or cursing someone out is it. There was one old school player who has mellowed a lot who used to go over board in this regard, but for the most part the server is pretty well behaved in this manner I think. Oh and I spawn extra mummies in every wiz king run I do that is not epic so I can get conquest and ransack...then again I kill them myself right away too.

I've never really had a problem with people dropping group mid-quest. I tend to describe what is coming up over voice chat, so we're all prepared for it. After the quest is over though, some people just drop party without saying anything. It's usually the people who just go for the ride. They don't say anything during the quest, don't add anything, etc.

Sometimes, real life gets in the way.

Emergencies happen in the household that are urgent and require immediate attention.

Also, this is winter time, and in many places icy and windy weather knock down power lines, phone lines, etc.

sometimes its a matter of a language barrier. there are a LOT more people playing now than there was 6 months ago, so the spectrum of attitudes and behaviors is going to be bigger. personally i think its best to say you are leaving rather than just dropping out, to avoid confusion as to whether you are coming back. As far as saying anything at the end of the quest goes i'd say thats prolly less of a concern than not saying anything when you leave mid quest. I always say "hey folks thanks for letting me tag along" its like a tag line, get it?

but in the end the love you make is equal to the love you take

I played AC2, so I log in everyday expecting to see a message that the servers will be ending in 4 months. As such, every day they don't is a good day!! Play like the world will end, because it will.

And to add to that sometimes people dont really understand whats going on around them in the quest. Sure the quest may have seem smooth to you but someone else may have felt more burden then not. As someone who has a lot of healers now I cant tell you how many times at the end of a quest that seemingly went smooth that was really rough sp and resource wise having people congradulate themselves and it annoyed me to the point where once we were done it was time to go.

So many factors go into how people choose to leave the group I still maintain that unless it was so much fun joking and laughing and the like once a quest is done I dont really owe anyone a ty or nothing especially if Ive contributed my fair share or more then my fair share to making the quest a success. So its not always those who dont contribute that dont pipe up sometimes its just easy to leave a group without being bitter or starting unnecessary drama.

I wouldn't say acceptable - but I find myself getting shorter than ever with folks these days unfortunately

As for the cause, I think a lot of it is just the repetition of stupidity. In slow days or yore, maybe 1 person a day would join my "ZERG In Progress / Know What's Up" LFM and be clueless. Now, it seems like once an hour.

A while ago I almost dropped a group by saying "g2g, driving brother to emergency room" but it turns out he needed a few minutes before he could go, and I completed the quest in time. Turns out it was nothing major, but still

I also get power outages and dsl disconnects fairly often... including those from weather.

I went in with a PuG to fight the dragons in the Tor the other day. Got to the ice dragon, threw down a wall of fire, and my game crashed. Got the loader back up, logged in, and got the red X saying it couldn't reconnected, so I had to wait for the timer to count down to 0. Boy was that the longest minute ever. When I finally got back in, I was dead, but so were the dragon and the giant, so it wasn't a big deal. Those kinds of things just happen some times.

Maybe I've been lucky, mostly get good PUGs on this server.

leave without saying anything? That's ok ... no need for a teary goodbye. Odds are we'll be pugging it again.
Haven't had much insulting uubertwits, so lucky me.

Have to have enough brass to say you are leaving, and why.
