Default class specific end of quest rewards

So, what is the point of this check box under the gameplay tab? I have it checked and my paladin is getting **** that he cannot even use or stuff that just plain makes no sense at all. I get leather armour, monk weapons, and staves ... what is up with that?

Paladins are proficient with Leather Armor, and also with Staves. If you are getting Kamas ALOT then that is wierd, but getting them from time to time is normal, as eotic weapons fall on the normal loot tables, including end rewards. You should be getting mostly things you can use.

These include Light, medium, and Heavy armor. Simple and Martial weapons. Exotic weapons will appear from time to time. Mana potions, items that fit in other slots, and items that increase casting ability alsoa re all useful to a paldin(to a degree) so they are included.

    Just how it is.

The class specific thing is a bit of a farce, the problem is if you have a pally you CAN use hand wraps, leather armor and such so it gives it to you. It doesn't take into account the fact it makes no sense it goes off your character feats (and enhancements?) and gives you what your able to use, not what you want or would like to use I believe.

I gave up on the class specific rewards.

Kept getting junk when I played my cleric. Boat loads of crossbows and hardly anything that I would be able to use at the moment. Turned the thing off and started getting better stuff that I could start selling at the AH.

Now with my bard, I made sure the box was off and have pulled some nice end rewards.

If you have alts or will have some alts, roll a mule and transfer some of the gear that would be considered "twink" or if it is something nice or if you can't use it on your main but will definately be able to use on your other alts. I have been equiping my fighter, cleric, wiz, barb, ranger and rogue in this manner. If I run accross any handwraps I'll bank them too since I'll be doing a monk at some point.

Some of the gear I'll be able to reuse between my alts but if I come accross something nice I just pass it to one of them.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.

Considering the number of caster items and mana potions my pure fighter gets offered, I'm coming to the conclusion that the only thing the table looks at is alignment. At least it seems to get that part right.

so let me get this straight...because a paladin can use robes those are class specific loot?

This also means that the more limited your "can use" equipment list the more likely your end rewards will be good.

sorry but that just plain stinks.

    Default Zut, alors!

The class specific loot option is , indeed, badly broken. However, I suspect it's item # 756394761523 on the Turbine Dev to-Do list.

Juuust kidding. I think I have mine checked.. but honestly free stuff is always a good thing in my book.

Actually, from what I understand, chest loot isn't affected. Just end rewards. So it does make some sort of sense that the guy that hires you pay in a currency, per say, that you can use.

I understand that "class specific" does not mean character specific, but how many paladins where leather armour or robes?

Yeah, it's a pure coincidence that khopeshes are "toon specific" for 99.9% of melee characters.

<chuckles> I have gotten more mana elixirs as quest reward loot for my barbarian than I have on my cleric...very odd that! If they were not on different servers, I'd just mail them over!
Many people are a lot like slinkies. Not good for much, but it is a lot of fun to watch them fall down the stairs.

The VAST number of paladins across all servers who took:

    A: Two levels of Rogue

    B: Two levels of Monk.

    Mine took Monk :P

I have no levels in anything but paladin, robes are monk specific and leather would be rogue specific, but because someone else multi-classed into another class does not make those options "class specfic" for all Paladins.

The system seems broken, i am going to try tunring it off and see if my loot even changes.

From what I've seen on my paladin is that the game will give you anything that you are proficient with or is a basis for you. Like Paladins get mana potions because they have a spell pool. Like you won't typically get wands on a paladin class quest end reward list. Because paladins can use so much their lists are filled with so much junk.

My wizard's list I like leaving class specific due to it restocks me with wands and mana potions, same with my cleric.

    Argo: Saveric(18Pal/2Ftg), Daehawk(20Wiz), Syverious(13Rog/6Rng/1Ftr), Katasuki(8Mnk)

I have this checked on my monk and, as far as weapons go, I ONLY get offered Kamas, Quarterstaves and Handwraps. Also, I get a lot of outfits. I have yet to receive anything my monk couldn't use.

I also have it checked on my rogue, for a better chance at rapiers and shortswords of awesome, but no dice there lately.

Default End Rewards Based On Class

This is correct. If you have the "Class Rewards Based On Class" box checked you will be more likely to recieve end rewards for that character's dominant class.

This feature does not affect chest loot.
