hehe - when someone first mentioned that the AH was in gold - I was like, really?? Apparently I do the same.

Another inconsistency is the inability to input more than 4 digit numbers in the gold field. You can only do that with plat, yet the AH will just visually convert it to gold. You just visualize the zero in your head accordingly.

But anyway, the thread's point in the first place is only about direct communication and transaction. I'm definitely for talking all plat.

Whenever I purchase a car, the first thing I do is change the speedometer so that it reads in Furlongs per Fortnight. Kinda messes with my wife's head when she takes a peek and sees that we're cruising down the interstate doing 147,840.

I use GP because that's what the AH uses. I also convert between the two a lot because most anything you post on the AH has a plat value first (so you have to knock a 0 off the end of the price in GP). Overall, there's a lot of need for converting between the two, which is irritating and confusing (and that's just dealing with the AH, not trying to make deals directly with players). When dealing with players, I make sure to add "pp" or "gp" to the end of the amount, so they'll know which I'm talking about. I prefer for them to do the same
