    Default concentration

so i wanna get this skill extremely high as you might imagine, being a monk and all
i hav a 8 int, and get 4 pts per lvl
but it only allows me to place 1 point into concentration per lvl, is this a bug? why cant i place anymore?
at this rate ill be lookin at maybe 24-26 (off the top of my head) max skill rank
    not including enchantments and items

and yet i see people talking about getting 40's , did i miss something?

With an 8 INT on a non-human, should be getting 3 skill points per lvl. However, you can only have a number of ranks in any skill equal to your level +3. So that means you can only put in 1 skill point per level (but you can have 3 skills).

    23 ranks +15 item (Shintao Cord) +5 CON +4 GH +10 Capstone = 57 (with a conservative estimate for a CON [14+6 item])
(Assuming 18 CON, and max everything else
    23 ranks +15 item +8 CON +4 GH +10 Capstone +4 Enhc +4 Tortoise = 68, standing.

The number of ranks you can put into a skill at a given level is capped:

If it is a class skill, the cap is level + 3 (max 23 ranks at level 20).
If it is a cross-class skill, the cap is (level + 3)/2 (max 11.5 ranks at level 20).

Also, if a skill is cross-class, but you take a level in a class for which it is a class skill, you gain the class skill cap for that skill, though it still will cost 1 point for 1/2 rank.

The ways to increase your Concentration skill are by equipping an item (up to +15), improving your Con score, taking ranks in enhancements (up to 4 points from Concentration enhancements, and up to another +4 from Way of the Tortoise).

True. Monk 20 improves Concentration by 10 I think.

If you have concentration maxed for your monk (or any skill for that matter), you will ONLY beable to put one point per a level to keep it maxed.
