Reavers Fate....is Cake....probably the easiest quickest Raid in the game. (hound is technically quicker except it takes a little bit to get there and if your taking new/unskilled players it can get ugly getting there).

One of the things that will help groups is for the caster/clerics to BUFF all elemental buffs on EVERY party member. I still do this and it greatly reduces the deaths, unless its a guild run, then they dont need it....also with experienced folks. But when you have unknown quantities, spend the mana...its FREE in there

I also tend to over heal in there...just spamming area healing non-stop (usually on main tank)

Everybody ... and I mean EVERYBODY gets a charge and keeps a charge.

This should make it a lot easier for the newer players.

Oh and I dont like the solver...i can solve in usually as few or fewer steps and on occasion the solver will fail you....I will not.

Gnolls? I didn't think there were gnolls in part 4 anymore.

For those that don't know, if you select the quest when you put up an LFM, then a big "BUY NOW" shows up over the classes requested box if premium / F2P don't have the adventure pack. I think that's what XXXXX may have meant.

I do admire their detication, for it must be a trait of youth. If I starting playing something and absolutely sucked at it, I would well, quit.

I remember being terrible at hockey from age 8 to 15. Yet 6 months a year I would "play" the sport. Then one season it all clicked.

My only hope is that it will all click for new players.

The learning curve of DDO is a gentle rise. Do your forum homework before you build a 6 Con rogue (I met one yesterday), listen to your elders (we might know what we are talking about), and above all else Stay Calm when things go slightly awry (instead of running around like headless poultry).

I have no idea why I take time out of my night to write this because sadder than your Reaver runs, no one who needs to understand these things will read it. They are all too busy trying to sell a +1 club in the market.

if this makes sense to you, hit me up with some rep because I can't buy a bucket
Dare imagine what will happen to DDO if they start to cater to them, the lowest common denominator?

We could end up with Quest Sharing, arrows pointing you where to go all the time, or game mechanics where even the absolute worse player/character can feel superior while soloing a Dungeon...

Default 3 steps to a completion on a pug raid

step 1. ask after the raid is full if we have any new players to this raid then ask the party to help them out.
step 2. explain whats needs to happen each part of the raid to the new players.
step 3. never give the new player a wipe roll i.e if he fails so does the raid. unless said player is a cleric, caster then make sure he has the proper amount of mana pots or heal scrolls for said raid and hope he know how to heal or run like hell for a caster in tod.
I pug raids a lot and these 3 steps will improve your chances by a 90% and dont be afraid to rerun the raid. seems like almost of of the T.O.D. raids i have a new wizzy which is a wipe spot but the second time though we get the job done.

Corrected slightly... and as the OP and many a thread of similar nature appearing proves we are running into something we should not... You read his cynicism while I read his disappointment.

Axer once said "Never assume your party knows anything." ... which holds truth, so we ask. - The thing is in the past we used to be able to account for it, people spoke up - "I'm new, I do not know this quest, What do I do? What do I need?" <- I would have to say over half of all new players do not anymore.

I find myself - who in the past would run with anyone in any half-arse party make-up with ten people in group who never been there pre-mod nine am having a difficult time in making a decision to press join on a pug where are names I do not recognize now. Brought me to beg and plea as such A thought for the new player. Outside a bit of soloing I've always looked at DDO as a team play game... we're in it together. As such please be part of the team... quite simple.

View it as over-critical if you wish... but criticism with the intent for the betterment be how we improve so be it.

I've noticed a trend in this too; we're all higher levels, but the new surge of players means we're going to simply have to compensate. Nothing wrong with raids being somewhat challenging again.

Lol, no...we just spent hours figuring these things out. For instance, when titan raid first came out, a group of us went in there and tried to figure it out. I was alone in there for 4 hours figuring out how to solve the green puzzle, without DD spell/scrolls. And this was before dragonmarks

Finally had to give up, as you need at least 2 people to do it, but I mapped out the whole green puzzle and a few of us figured it out

And once we figured out how to beat the actual titan part, the devs changed it to be harder But, we got the last laugh and figured out how to beat him too

    Saal

P.S. Oh for the good old days when people actually spent time figuring things out instead of searching for the easy button

most players with resources can get the job done. the only difference is how many pots, scrolls, and other expendables
If you want to know why...
