COMPLETELY STUMPED: Game simply will not start

i had the same problem at first,.. all you have to do to bypass the problem of,... it crashing after you log in pick your serv ect,.. after you pick your server, and tell it to log in,. when it flips over to the black screen press ESC a few times until it passes the first turbine screen,. for some reason the flashing turbine symbol causes some comps to **** out,.... hope it helps

Sounds like your ogg decoding file got corrupted.

After a fresh windows install (vista64) I could not get passed the server screen without a crash. Tried many of the recommended things here and elsewhere without any avail.

This tip got me passed for the first time and then it didn't crash again at that point. A big thank you.
