    Default kensai/temptest/assasian

hi just want to know what people think of this attempt. just experimenting with character builds and need to know if this is realistic for end game stuff or even worth actually building. my stats are without named items of any kind so any input into what items might make it better would be appreciated. any other comments as to the order i leveled or any enhancements/feats i should change would also be appreciated. this is a 32 point build. here is how i thought i would go. some other questions i have are how much hp will a +6 con item give to the 286 i have. are my bab and saves adequate. are there better favored enemies to choose and lastly is the umd high enough to be worth the points.

I forgot what assassin I gets you, but while some Prestige lines are great at level I others are not. Tempest I? Great. Kensai I, not so much. But Kensai II rocks as you get power surge. So conventional wisdom here is to go with just 2 rogue levels, and 12 Fighter. Then you're kensai II / tempest I. Power surge, +20% melee 2wf speed, and the rogue 2 gets you the evasion that ranger doesn't yet at only 6 levels. And UMD. So those 2 levels pay off nicely even without a prestige enhancement, and enable kensai II.

    I would also go 12/6/2.

One note - you shouldn't take Chaotic and Evil Outsider as FE. Evil Outsider will cover most of that nicely. Instead go for Giants or Undead.

One other thing, and this is strictly preference, but I prefer my level progression to be Rogue at 1 and then 6 levels of ranger (So 6/1 at that point) to get to tempest as quickly as possible.

rogue assassin 1 gives you a +2 bonus to damage on critical hits (before multipliers), a +2 bonus to Bluff, Hide, and Move Silently skills and Fortitude saves against poison. Also grants the ability to expend a use of Damage Boost to gain a large bonus to confirm critical hits, a bonus to hit while sneak attacking, and the chance to apply poison on sneak attacks for a short period of time which i thought went well with all the attacks i would be getting.

so the 12/6/2 build is the kensei/temptest better then kensei/assassin for overall play. is it more then attack speed vs. elite traps with the stats i would have. also how do i get the hp and saves up abit. all other builds i see have way more hp then i do with about the same con and toughness feats. apperantly i have more reading and learning to do before i start any cross class builds.

There are toughness enhancement line for certain races and classes. for instance, a human fighter with the toughness feat would get access to 6 enhancement (Human Racial Toughness I and II, and Fight Toughness I-IV) to give you an additional 60 HP. Add the Minos Legens helm from the necro, and there's another 20 HP. You could even add another shroud crafted item for I believe 15 more. To get the fighter enhancements you need 10 levels of fighter. Halflings, Humans, Dwarves and WF get the racial bonus.

As to which way is better to play? That's a personal decision. Elite traps at high level will be tough without a significant investment. I prefer the 12/6/2 for the inherent wand whipping, basic resists, UMD for heal scrolls later, and free ranger feats.

Both Assasin I and Kensei I are rather disappointing and not worth taking. That leaves you with 12/6/2 fighter ranger rogue. To keep your trap skills up is tough. But if you do not want the rogue levels, then you might as well go pure fighter, since it gives the same benefit as tempest I does.

I would definitely drop Power Critical.
