    Default Windows 7 Crashes

I get seemingly random crashes in DDO. They usually happen within ten minutes, but I've gone over an hour before getting one as well. I'm running windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition.

The error message: dndclient has stopped working. A problem caused the problem to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

This happen regardless of what compatibility mode, if any, that I use.

    Any solutions?

Edit: Forgot to post a Dxdiag.

I did a full reinstall, and the problem is still there. Only change is that it crashes to the launcher/update window instead of closing everything.

Win7 64-bit and DDO can get along well. You're not encountering a general incompatibility between the two. You don't need any compatibility settings, either, although "Disable desktop composition" can help DDO start up more successfully because it won't lose focus to the "Aero disabled" popup.

You say you have an 8800GS. Your issue could be a different symptom on the same underlying issue several people have seen: Factory-overclocked NVidia cards that are getting a little older having issues with DDO. See also http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=211193

Reference clock for the 8800GS is a bit confused online. I've seen 550 core 1600 memory (keep shaders locked to core), and 500 core 1400 memory cited. Play with speeds some to see whether your issue is related to a factory overclock / aging card at all.

DDO, BTW, is harder on graphics cards than any other game I've tried. On my husband's PC, we just finished some cooling improvements after DDO sent his GPU to 108(!) degrees C. It hadn't gone above 85 C on other games.

Doesn't seem to be overclocked at all.

Core is 550, shader, which I have linked, is 1375, and memory is 800.

Not an overclock issue then. Temperature? How high is that when it crashes?

Might be driver-related, too - I'm on a guessing spree here.

Updated my drivers off of the nvidia website and it still crashes.

I don't know how I'd check temperature, but wouldn't an overheat crash the entire computer?
