Well since the ddowiki is still down, here are some compendium links.

    http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Base_Attack_Bonus

    http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Guide....0#Armor_Class

Here you go, this one has a ton of info on it.

While not all of the above relates to DDO, it will give you a better idea of the way the game works...

edit: And of course having someone that can get the compendium to load up will be of more help...see Cedwin above ^

if you move you get a -4 penalty for your tohit if you dont have the feats to negate it (spring attack, shoot on the run)

    your tohit is calculated as:
BAB + STR-/DEX-mod (melee/ranged) + whatever bonus else you have from items and buffs

    so a nakid lvl5 ranger (bab5) with 30str (10strmod) and a +3 sword would have (5+10+3=) 18tohit

at bab0 and 1 your tohit progression is 0/0/+5/+5, means if you stand still then you get a +5 for your 3rd and 4th attack.
at bab2 you get another attackhook (and an additional animation)
at bab3 you get another hook and the progression ups to 0/0/+5/+10
(note: the numbers in the progressions might be abit off, not enitre sure when it gets increased etc..but to show the point)

    hope that helped abit

If you have the feat "Shot on the Run", then accuracy isn't affected, otherwise you get a -4 penalty for running around and shooting.

The -4 penalty applies when calculating if you hit something or not.

There's a lot of math involved, btw, lol.

Basically, if you are shooting at something that has a 25 armor class, it rolls the dice to see if you hit it or not with every shot. When it rolls the die, it factors in all of your bonuses, and your to-hit, and adds the die roll in. If you roll high enough you hit it, if you don't, you miss. That being said, they did add in a new feature recently to where if you roll so low that you completely miss, you have a chance to make a "Grazing Hit", which does something like 3 or 4 damage.
