Id vote no simply because Clericy is an adorable name hehe

Now Zynthar and I have something quite in common we both come from fairly large guilds on the same server its not that you cant develop a large group of friends or even run guild only. The thing is sometimes it dont work that way. Even in a big guild you get a period where your somewhere in the middle. People are either in the mood to run high levels or really low (korthos levels) and you maybe somewhere in between. So instead of waiting on the korthos guys to get up to your level you may form up or join a pug and meet new people. Or heck maybe just into pugging to find new recruits for your guild.

So in those scenarios yes you can still run into very bad pugs along with the good ones and its times like that where you really would love the options to boot people.

Though its still something that would be abused in my opinion so I could never agree to it being implemented.

    Recall.
Call a reform point (meet me at Brother X, Sister Y, etc.)
    Reinvite.
    Do not include person Z.

    Fairly simple.

Add "Report Person Z for Griefing", and you have a win.

The trouble that may cause you, does not equal the injustice that could be done to others by individuals, or groups, kicking for no reason.

Thats not saying I don't UNDERSTAND where you are coming from....I do....it just won't work for DDO.

Problem is if you're in the middle of a single longer quest, and you don't realize he's a piker until you're fairly well in. My first encounter was a Tears of Dhakaan group. We were fairly well in, and then realized that the guy's lagging behind after each fight, then running up once done had to be intentional, not just lag...and then he just stood there instead of making a jump. We were roughly halfway through by then.

I can understand how you feel Kalari, but that's the beauty of the vote. Make it public in the group, and have it be the majority of the group. In a full group, 5 votes needed to boot. 4 votes in a group of 5, and so on. And yes that person would get to vote also. It wouldn't do much for the ACTIVE pikers probably, but the ghosts, or the one's that come in and go afk to soak up the xp? Yeah.

Oh, and disable for raids obviously. Maybe make something so you can only propose the vote once per group, to avoid someone spamming?

Or maybe just do something for the afk'ers? Have something where they have to click ok or something to stay in after the group votes on thinking they're AFK and soaking? Give it a two or even five minute timer, and a nice big window with a "Click to stay in the instance".

And yeah... I guess this is another of my "Annoyed at the world" threads, isn't it? At least this one's a tad bit more constructive!
Just remember. Good build, bad build, it's all the same when you roll a 1.

If he's bad enough to want to boot him, regroup and start over. If you're so far into the quest that you don't want to restart it, why not just finish it?

His XP has no impact on yours. It sounds like you just want to boot him to spite him for piking. The only impact his piking has on your party is that he takes up a spot that an active member could have filled. But if you've gotten so far into the quest that it hasn't mattered so far, you probably don't need the help. If you NEED he help, you're not going to finish anyway so recall and start over.

It becomes freeloading then. I don't want freeloaders to level. I'd reform the party, even if I am at the end.

And that's why Turbine would not add a boot mechanism. If there is no gameplay reason to boot him, they won't add it.

Any group that can agree to kick a person is a group that can agree to recall/reform without the person they wanted to kick.

The other possibility is, it HAS mattered, but you will only notice it when the casters run out of mana. And even then it's only the cleric who pays the bill so you might overlook it.
