Lowbie caster gear and getting rid of the Vet gear

Greetings all,
I have recently started a Favored Soul using Impaqt Envoker build, and for the most part having fun. It's nice not to have to worry about getting a group. Anyway, I am lvl 6 and still have some of my Vet gear. I guess what I am trying to ask is should I be concerned about the gear or just press on and hope for the best?

I currently have a Power VI Sceptor and a Superior Ardor II sickle that I swap out after buffing. I also carry around the Nicked Longsword and a +1 Holy Longsword for those special moments. I will start "nuking" next level with Soundburst, but mostly I have been healing. Seems until I nab Bladebarrier I may be stuck in the healer role.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
