...that no one told me about?
Was running Ruined Halls just now on elite, and I notice the paladin shield-blocking while the only monster around is a spider beating the **** out of my rogue. So I ask him why he is blocking without aggro, and mention that it's pointless to do so.
He says, "I disagree."
Don't think anything of it, as we move on to the mephit room, but we're getting hammered, and I see him standing off from the group and blocking again! So I ask what he's doing. He says that he blocks when in healing mode, so that he doesn't get tagged hard by some random aggro.
I apologize for my abrasive tone in asking, as that's a reasonable strategy, but then say that it's usually better to have all DPS in on mephits, since they regen.
Then he says he doubts he would be much help, since he has 6 STR and a +1 weapon! This is a Paladin 6/Rogue 2.
Naturally, I'm both somewhat irritated (we wiped except for this guy, who is just running the mephits in circles), and puzzled, and ask WHY?
Apparently he specialized in healing and saves. On a paladin. How do you specialize in saves on a paladin? WHY would one specialize in saves on a paladin?-_-
Saves grow on trees for paladins! Saves fall from the skies! Paladins through out saves when they're half done because they know more are coming! (Wish I had said all this exactly so).
I point out the error of this, as do a few other people in group, in as politely as is possible in this situation. And he insists that I just don't have the same idea about good saves that he does.![]()
I mention that I have 2 capped paladins, and have run 3 others up to around level 11. One guy says that he didn't join up to argue and drops group, then Mr. ****** agrees, and apparently squelches me.
This, after having a monk go crowd surfing two or three times in a row on mephits in VoN 6 (he didn't learn the first time?), and that thread about sorc/pald 3 warrior-mage with the abysmal ability scores.
I'd have rather had a level 4 hireling barbarian than this guy!![]()
