FvS forums are not quick enough =), I'm Comin back to DDO and really want to play a FvS but I'v played a cleric/rogue(2) in the passed and with my friends and grp setup they never play a rogue =(. So question is....is a FvS Trap Monkey Viable?

Its possible, but not as easy to do as a cleric IMO since FvS needs a more evenly distributed stat spread.
Sweet the Might Impaqt replyed only person I remember from the forums 2ish years ago with the great builds. Darn thou on the FvS trap monkey =( Possible for a TWF Offensive casting FvS? Seen alot of the twf builds with low wisdom.
Ive done an 18/2 FvS/Monk splash for the two bonus feats, evasion, and AC, but you could do the same thing with Rogue if you wanted the trap skills and UMD instead of the AC and feats. The trick is getting enough int to have the skill points. You still need to hit Concentration for your in combat casting checks, plus search and dd. Something in OL and UMD would probably be nice on this toon. It'd be a shame to have a solid CHA and not get some UMD out of it, if you can. I think you need to make one of the following choices:
1. FvS Melee/Healer/Trap Monkey/UMD - Maybe 16/10/14/14/10/14. Your spell DC's will be terrible so dont try to use command, hold, etc. Focus on buffing, healing, smacking things. Some damage spells will still be worthwhile (Searing Light, BB). You might want to consider Force of Personality or Insightful Reflexes (to help with evasion saves)
2. FvS Healer/OCC/Trap Monkey/UMD - Mabye 12/10/14/14/16/12. You will be weaker in melee, but should be able to land your CC spells and instadeath spells. Drop all level ups into Wis. Still consider insightful reflexes to make the evasion saves more meaningful.
Play around with that. I think you should have enough skill points with the 14 INT. If you can get by with 12, that'd be even better. Don't put more in there than you have to in order to get DD, search, Concentration, and UMD maxed.
EDIT: If you have the access to +1 and +2 tomes (At level 7) that will help with the INT/skill point issue. You can shade some points and invest them elsewhere. And also give you some flexibility with Charisma in the seconde option. You really only need CHA for the ability to cast spells of a certain level and bonus spell points from an FvS perspective. As long as you end up with a 19 you are all set. You can do that with a +6 item, some level up enhancements and a +1 tome. very easy to do.
