Your kind of right my issue is I don't want the construct to be the overall best rated class for the arcane arts.

So your freed magical robots with a backstory I hope someone programed an order 66 so you all go crazy at the same time and turn against stormreach and we have an epic war.
I am prepared to have an epic war against the Fleshies at any time.

    DEATH TO ALL FLESHLINGS!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!one!!!1!

Underpants, I'm suing you for racism...
Just because Robots are, umm... "Robotic", Does not make them inhuman!

Now stinking Elves, Dwarves, Drow, and Especially Halflings are inhuman...
But Warforged should not be treated with Racist Remarks. That is intolerable!
    XD

Warforged are the lazy "living" races who decided they were to lazy to find a Disease Immunity, Proof Against Poison Items, and hate paralysis, Fatigue, Exhaustion, etc... So they talked to a Druid, farmed Demon Sands on Epic Difficulty, and reincarnated themselves as a robot.

1979 Pinto.... that way if your ever attacked in the behind you have a 100% chance of exploding, and at least you can take one with you....

Probably of no relevance, but just thought I'd chime in here.
'Auto' actually is a Greek prefix meaning 'self' or 'coming from within'.
So 'auto-healing' basically means nothing more and nothing less than 'self-healing'.

Many people immediately think of 'automatic' or 'automaton', 'automatos' meaning something which acts on its own accord. And of course, there's no 'automatic healing' in the game.

Of course not... If the game breaks, or gets corrupted, you have to reinstall it...
If only they programmed the code to automatically heal itself.

Really Underpants? Sticks and Stones may break your bones, but names will never hurt us... And we're made of plenty of sticks and stones... and cooler stuff, designed to destroy fleshies.

So it seems that we will recycle you into a very useless pile of biological waste.

They are still being created secretely by House Cannith. This isn't something you're likely to find out in the online game, but if you buy the Eberron Campaign Setting (at least, via D&D 3.5 - not sure about 4.0, I refuse to buy 4.0) you can read up on some of the interesting stuff.

The history of the warforged is actually pretty cool, and I think it'd be wicked to see the Lord of Blades faction pop into the DDO world-line.

    Incorrect.

Warforged automatically stabilise when incapped and get a healing surge of 10HP after 30 seconds.

altho in reality all that self repair stabilization **** only brings you up to a 1 instead of repairing for 10 like it says

    Smile Warforged aren't robots.

OP I will let you in on a secret. One that is so secret that just knowing it has put my very life in danger!

    Warforged aren't sentient constructs.

    Oh no.

What race is suspiciously missing from DDO?
Which is also small enough to fit into a robot body?
Which is renowned for its magical abilities?

    I'll tell you....GNOMES...there I said it.

Warforged are actually gnomes in disguise!!!

Just be careful with this information. Word gets out that you know and aren't some crazy and you never know what will happen!

LOL, gnomes in big smelly battle suits.....I like that.

Like the op I'm not fond of the wf's girth nor the at rest weapon postion when dual wielding.

Because of this I'm willing to forgo the innate faster superiority being wf'ed brings and build arround what I feel is second best for a wizard......halfling. Sorcs don't have the feats for it, but wizards can afford the dm's feats.

With that being said I consider even halfling wizards sub optimal, but worth the sacrifice.....even with the hunched over lope of a halflings stride. Can't imagine what a door a double reincarnated wf will be.
Varr's all over. Cannith Varr getting the love currently.

You get enough back to put you at 1 hp.
